U.S. President Donald Trump may allow former Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard to immigrate to Israel, according to reports broadcast Sunday night by Israeli Channels 2 and 13.

The president has said it is possible that he personally may join the celebrations for the opening of the American Embassy in Jerusalem on May 14, the secular date of Israel’s 70th anniversary.

Both channels reported that the president is “seriously considering” allowing Pollard, who is still on very restricted conditions after receiving parole, to leave the country to move to Israel.

Pollard served 30 years in prison after being convicted on a single count of espionage after passing classified documents to an allied nation (Israel).
