Syrian Rebels Signing up with Al Qaeda

Hundreds of Syrian rebels have signed up to fight in the northern and eastern areas of Syria with Al Qaeda against Bassar al-Assad’s forces, according to sources quoted by Reuters.

Al Qaeda  forces, primarily the Nusra terrorist group that is linked with Al Qaeda,  are better trained and more effective than many opposition fighters, and two rebel brigades of more than 700 fighters reportedly have joined Al Qaeda in a Syrian area near the Turkish border,

If the trend continues, the civil war will become more of clear battle between a jihadist terrorist organization and a barbaric dictator, leaving President Barack Obama in more of a bind. Assad’s war crimes have driven President Barack Obama to moral outrage, but the alternative of Al Qaeda is equally unappealing, if not worse.

Up to 100,000 or more jihadists from outside Syria reportedly have joined the war, belated evidence to back up Assad’s claims of three yard ago that the local opposition was led by “foreign terrorists.”
