A large menorah covered in seashells and used to spread the light of Hanukkah at Miami Beach was vandalized on Sunday, scrawled with black graffiti stating “You Killed Jesus”.
Sunday marked the 11th anniversary of the first time the religious symbol was vandalized, according to Fox News, with the beach-themed Hanukkah vessel being torn down three times in its first year on display.
The menorah is lit annually by Chabad Rabbi Zev Katz.
The damaged shells have already been replaced, and police are investigating the incident.

We interrupt this thoughtful column to share with you the above image, which I just received by email from my wife (and which you, I’m sure, have first seen back in 2006, because the media are always behind with these things). “For the first time, women are now being allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia.” [...]
Some 25,000 Belz chassidim packed the wedding ceremony of Rabbi Shalom Rokeach, Grandson of the Belzer Rebbe, and Chana Batya Pener, May 22, 2013, in Jerusalem. Pretty amazing images. We should have.
Do we still have to belong to this stupid medieval mentality? Not only is this an insult to my Jewish background, but it is also an insult to my Christian background. Because both Judaism and Christianity are above this type of simple stupidity.
He without Yeshua you don't have a background
Yeshua was Jewish.
A message to Christians, I looked it up to see who actually did kill Jesus, and I quote: "No one has taken it away from me, but I lay it down on my own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from my father."
I wish the editor would have corrected the inaccuracies in the report before publishing the article. Clearly the picture shows a Hanukia, not a menorah. A menorah is used primarily for shabbat.
Well, if he was supposed to die so that people could be "saved", shouldn't they be THANKING us?
Yes!!! Thank you!!! Any body who does not love G-Ds chosen who have been persecuted to accomplish His goal of bringing about salvation is probably not a true believer.

Our schools in America are so bad that they keep forgetting that the Romans invented crucifixion, and modern Christians are lucky the Romans didn't kill every witness and follower of Jesus at the time. The Romans crucified thousands and thousands of people and slaughtered many, many Hebrews. Some people act like there were only three people crucified in all of history…stop the hate and start hitting the books, America. Not that I'm much of a reader.
History's greatest underdogs deserve a break, people.
You R so right and on target! G-d bless.
A lot of people who call themselves Christians don't read the Holy Word.
A lot of people who call themselves Christians don't read the Holy Word.
well yes we do thank G-d for the gift of Christ Jesus, the son of the Livng G-d, that He had mercy upon us, so that we in turn could have mercy and extend grace to those who walk in unbelief. shalom
Well thanks ever so.
What am I, a Roman?
What am I, a Roman? A real historical revisionist of the sort who says J was a Palestinian would say it was the Christians who killed him. Basically this doesn't rate a reaction, so why did the JP react and why did I?
It's easy to get fearful and/or angry when you feel the target of a dung-toss. I get angry when good people are unfairly targeted. Last I heard, Jesus was Jewish, and any freed man or Friedman is not Roman.
Not to mention, anybody throwing stones at Jewish people is obviously violating their own principles and teachings. They'd be easy to ignore if they'd stop throwing so many rocks.
I agree, Roasted Locust, but in such a case when you are being heckled and jeckled the best course is to 1) learn self-defense, 2) walk on by without being rattled and 3) plan to change your residence to your own country where you run the show and can naturally hold your head high.
Seems to me these are the same haters who would kill both Jews and Christians if given the chance. The person(s) who did this are not Christians or at least examples of what a true Christian is. I damn sure would not want to share a pew in church with them.
I might more easily accept a radical Islamist would do such a thing so as to forment hate.
To: Malkah Fleisher, Chabad Rabbi Zev Katz and our Jewish brother and sister, please ignore these ignorant, low information people. The Menorah and all its history and significance will never go dark. The Menorah’s light will continue to shine for thousand of years and your people will be accepted and not just tolerated, times are changing.
Anti Semitic actions and words were the spritual inheritence of the pagan nations who always, like Esau, bore a hatred born of rebellion against God and His will for humanity. It's like the mark of Cain. What such a mark is doing on any face that claims salvation through the Jewish Messiah should make the owner of that face stop and think. But hatred does not allow thought and reason. Gil Gilman said it clear and true. Yeshua, in order that the will of God and the Word of God should be fulfilled, laid down His own life, the very word that these people who call themselves Christians, ie. lovers and followers of the Christ (the Greek word for Messiah) and who indulge in such vile acts, are supposed to obey, they do not even appear to read. The very words spoken by Yeshua they do not even seem to have any knowledge of at all. Spiritual blindness is an astonishing thing to behold and it is of itself perhaps sadly one of the greatest evidences that there is more than the material going on in this universe. It does not matter how 'intelligent' respected or qualified, even eminant, a person may be it completely switches off logic and reason. Anti Semitism is a pestilence and and a cancer upon the pages of human history. But all Christians need to be aware. Another avoided writing, along with the Torah and the Prophets which have been treated as if they are irrelevent, is the book of Revelation. The first to come before the Lord when He comes to judge all of Creation will be those who have claimed to act in His Holy Name.Particularly those who have taught in His name. It is also clear that a key part of that judgement will be how His word has been obeyed and how His chosen have been treated. It is not surprising therefore in some ways that so much of the church have been kept in the dark about the wolves that have been dwelling in the flock for centuries. It will be strange to most Jews that the majority of the Christian church has absolutely no knowledge of it's own history and treatment of the Jewish people. Many have a vague knowledge of an awful event called the Holocaust, but of course that was Hitlers fault. Of the century upon century history of pogroms and murder and persecution, the blood libels and the slanders, and all 'in the name of Christ…' I will not repeat the last, they remain ignorant.
'For want of wisdom My people perish.'
