Q. What is Jewish Press Classifieds?
A.

Jewish Press Classifieds is the world’s largest Jewish online classified advertising service. You will find all the benefits of the print edition, plus these key features:

  • You can browse listings or post an ad yourself.
  • You can look for a home, apartment, general items for sale, or job. You'll find many ads in a host of categories.
  • You can save searches, contact the seller without leaving your computer and view pictures.
  • It's fast and simple.

Note: You must be a registered JewishPress.com user to post an ad. Registration isn't required to browse or reply to ads.

Q. What is "My Classifieds"?
A.

My Classifieds is a tool to assist you in managing your listings. Once you post an ad, you can view the status of your listing and use your My Classifieds page to edit, renew, upgrade, or delete your listing. Additional features are available if you purchase a Premium package, including the ability to track your ad’s performance, post images and much more.

Q. How do I post a Classified ad?
A.

In order to post an ad to any category within Jewish Press Classifieds, you must first be a registered Jewishpress.com member. If you aren’t yet, sign up now.

Once you have registered and signed in, go to Jewish Press Classifieds and follow these simple instructions:

  1. Click on the "Post an Ad" link in the top right corner of the page.
  2. Select the appropriate category for your listing.
  3. Choose the Basic package or the Premium package which offers additional selling features and benefits.
  4. Choose the number of weeks that you would like your ad to run.
  5. Click the "Continue" button.
  6. Fill out the form with your information.
  7. Click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the form. (If you receive an error message, you will have to enter the correct information or it will not be posted.)
  8. Review how your ad will look on the Web site. If you wish to make changes to the ad, click the "Edit Listing" link on the preview page. You can also still upgrade your ad to a Premium package, if you have not done so already.
  9. If you are satisfied with your ad, click "Submit" to continue to billing.
  10. Verify that your billing information is correct and click on the "Place Order" button.

Upon completion, you will receive an order confirmation via e-mail.

Q. I posted an ad, but I don’t see it online.
A. After submitting your ad, the content is subject for review by our editors. If placed 9AM – 3PM (business days), ad will be posted by 5PM that same day. If placed after 3PM (business days), it will be posted by 5PM next day. Once your ad is approved you will receive an e-mail notification.

Q. How can I edit my ad?
A.

You are able to view and edit every ad placed with the Jewish Press online. If you sell or rent your item, you can also remove ads before it expires.

If you placed your ad over the phone with a Jewish Press Classified Representative, begin here:

Verify your account information. This can be done by responding to the verification e-mail. The e-mail was sent to the e-mail address that was given when placing your ad. If you have not received the e-mail or misplaced it, please follow the following steps
  1. Go to www.jewishpress.com. Click on the Member Center tab located at the top left of your screen to access your account.  If you do not have an account, please create one now.
  2. In the Member Center, under the Classifieds tab, click on “Verify by Phone Number.
  3. Enter your phone number in the field provided (example: 718-330-0900) and click on “Verify Ad
  4. Click on the “My Classifieds” tab to view your classified ad.
 
When you have completed the above step or if you placed your ad through the Web site, continue here:

Log in to Jewishpress.com and go to “Member Center”. The Member Center section can be found under the “My Classified” heading. When you reach the Member Center page, click on “Edit My Ads”.

To edit your ad:

1. Click on the "Edit" link to the right of the ad. You will be taken to the ad details form.

2. Use the form to update any of the fields, or change your ad description.

3. Once you have made your changes click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the form.

4. You can now add or edit your photos.

5. Click the "Continue" button when you are done.

6. Within a couple of hours you will be notified via e-mail that the changes have been posted to the Web site.

7. Please note: Editing an ad will not extend the remaining time on your ad.

Deleting an ad:

1. Click on the "Delete" link below the ad.

2. Click “Yes” if you are sure that you wish to delete the ad and remove it from the Web site. Once an ad is deleted, the information cannot be recovered. There is no refund for ads that are removed before the expiration date.

Q. How can I take advantage of more features?
A.

You will need to log in to your Jewishpress.com Member Account and browse to Member Center. Member Center can be found under the My Classified heading.

Then follow the following 3 easy steps:

  1. Click on “Edit My Ads”
  2. Select the ad that you would like to add features and upgrades
  3. Click the “Upgrade” button
Note: All upgrades must be approved by The Jewish Press editors. This may result in a delay between the completion of the upgrade process and when the changes will be posted to the Web site.

Q. What is the Premium Classified package with Featured Listing?
A.

The Premium package offers access to powerful selling tools that will help your ad to reach even more serious buyers, renters and job seekers. The Premium package includes:

  • Featured placement- maximum exposure for your listing! Your ad will appear at the top of the Classified search results listings, above basic ads.
  • Multiple photos. Add up to six photos with your listing. Now available in the following sections: For Sale, Pets, Real Estate and Autos.
  • Image Gallery. If you upload photos to your ad, a thumbnail of the photo will be prominently displayed in the search results.
  • Add your Web site address. Adding your Web address to your listing will drive more customers directly to your site.
  • Include description, price and contact information.
Your ad will run for 30 days.

Q. I found what I’m looking for. How do I contact the seller online?
A. To reply to a listing, click on “Contact Seller” located under “Ad Tools”. When prompted, enter your email address and message, then click “Submit” to send.

Q. How do I renew my ad?
A.

  1. Click on "My Classifieds" at the top of any Classifieds page.
  2. You will be prompted to log in if you have not already done so.
  3. Click on the "Renew" button under the ad you would like to extend.
  4. At this time, you can either edit your ad or leave it as is. Note: The "Renew" button will become active a few days prior to your ad expiring.
  5. Review your ad details and click on the “Proceed to Billing” button.
  6. Once the billing process is complete your ad will be extended for the length of time that you specified.
