Jewish community, the 4th Annual Los Angeles Puah Brunch was recently held to support the groundbreaking endeavors of Puah – the Israel-based international organization that assists Jewish couples with fertility problems within halachic parameters.

L.A.’s Torah Celebration

A double Hachnasas Sefer Torah celebration, recently held at Shaarei Torah of Los Angeles, began with the kesivas osios at the home of Regina Rechnitz, the Rechnitz family matriarch. The writing of the final letters was followed by a large procession through the streets of Los Angeles to the Shaarei Torah shul, home of the new Sifrei Torah.

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The congresswoman, the first Cuban-American female elected to Congress, is the longest-serving Republican woman the House of Representatives.

Children who attend Highland Oaks Elementary School, Ojus and Aventura Charter School must register this week to guarantee their spot.

A dilapidated old boat recently came ashore in South Florida. The rickety vessel was a small, old fishing boat. Eighteen passengers were crammed aboard. Its engine was recycled from an old Soviet automobile and had a fuel leak. A tree branch propped up the sail. The hull was cracked.
