CGI campers perform at the end of summer celebration.

Children at Camp Gan Israel at The Shul of Bal Harbour enjoyed a fun-filled summer. The campers were treated to seven weeks of sports, swimming, trips, crafts, theme weeks, dress up days and much more. Judaic learning and outreach projects were an important part of the summer experience. Both the boys‘ and girls‘ divisions participated in activities including a Chai Lifeline Bowl-a-Thon, a chesed project with the local kosher food bank, daily davening and weekly challah baking.

At the end of summer celebration, camp director Gruni Diamont noted that the Lubavitcher Rebbe started the Camp Gan Israel movement to ensure that Jewish children could experience first-hand the richness, excitement and warmth of Judaism. She noted that there are now CGIs in practically every state and throughout many countries worldwide.
