Rabbi Tennenhaus explained that the lights of the menorah represent victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and an end to terror and tyranny. Rabbi Lebovics sang the berachos. The governor lit the shamesh and Judge Grossman lit the first candle.

The program included a presentation by the Chai Tots Preschool, a Chanukah party, and the singing of “God Bless America” and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Included among the community, civic, and business leaders in attendance were Hallandale mayor Joy Cooper and commissioners Keith London and Anthony Sanders.

Governor Scott graciously interacted with the crowd and spoke with each student of the Chaya Aydel Seminary.
