RASG Hebrew Academy recently held its annual Community for Israel event, which included a Yom Ha’Zikaron commemoration and a Yom Ha’Atzmaut celebration. The Yom Ha’Zikaron commemoration honored fallen IDF soldier Benji Hillman and featured as keynote speaker Chaim Shacham, Israel’s consul general to Florida and Puerto Rico. Other guest speakers included Rabbis Schiff and Bixon.
Upon completion of a candle-lighting ceremony, the Israeli flag was raised from half staff and the Yom Ha’Zikaron celebration began with a festive daglanut (flag) routine, dancing, Israeli food, and an amazing fireworks show.Shelley Benveniste
