Nova High School’s Judaica Club came together to celebrate Chanukah. A party, featuring fun activities and delicious Chanukah donuts, was sponsored by NCSY at Nova High School in Davie.

A great addition to this event was the collection of gifts to donate to JAFCO, the Jewish Foster Care and Adoption Organization. The gifts included coloring books, beautiful jewelry, and fun board games. The students of the Judaica Club wanted to give the JAFCO children something new for the holidays.

This event was just the start for Nova High’s Judaica Club. The club is coordinated by teacher sponsor Sharon Frier and club leader Todd Cohn. Programs are youth-led by the student board.

The club plans on doing great things in 2016, including challah bakes and Shabbat dinners. The club was founded this year but board members have already started collecting tzedakah and have become increasingly involved in the Jewish community. The club helps bring young Jews together to give back to the community and make a difference in their environment.
