Hebrew Academy (RASG) high school faculty member Mrs. Tirtza Schapiro has been named as one of the winners of the thirteenth annual Grinspoon-Steinhardt Awards for Excellence in Jewish Education.

The mission of the Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award is to raise the status of the Jewish educators and provide those educators with the recognition they deserve. Annually, one teacher from 55 major cities nationwide receives this award and Mrs. Schapiro was selected as the South Florida region winner out of hundreds of nominees.

Mrs. Schapiro will receive $1,000 in professional development funding as a reward for her efforts as a Judaic Studies teacher. A longtime teacher and mentor at the Hebrew Academy, students, parents, and colleagues can attest that Mrs. Schapiro is indeed a special teacher who inspires her students both in and out of the classroom.

The Hebrew Academy is an Orthodox college and yeshiva preparatory school serving students through grade 12. The school strives to inspire students to achieve their greatest potential and instill eternal Torah values in a changing world.
