The South Florida Shomrim Society is an organization comprised of active and retired public safety and law enforcement officers, firefighters, probation/parole officers, corrections officers, attorneys, judges, court clerks, prosecutors, medical examiners and police chaplains who are of the Jewish faith. The organization was established in 1984 to bring a sense of community to Jewish law enforcement and public safety officers working in South Florida. The members represent local, state and federal branches of service.

Shomrim’s recent selection of Harvey Meshel as the new president of the group has been met with a warm and positive response. Meshel has proven to be an asset and his dedication and commitment to the organization is well known.

The transition surrounding Meshel’s new position is expected to be an exciting time for The South Florida Shomrim Society as Meshel is sure to bring his own unique experience and background to his new leadership position.

The next membership meeting of South Florida Shomrim will be on Sunday, June 22 at BSO Public Safety Building, 2601 West Broward Boulevard, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
