Cantor Avi Albrecht, a major figure in the cantorial world, will appear for Shabbat Shirah, January 25-26, at the Palm Beach Synagogue in Palm Beach together with the a cappella group Kol Fusion. The program is presented by the Palm Beach Synagogue and American Friends of Meir Panim.

Avi Albrecht has appeared in almost every major city in North America, Israel and Europe, and enjoys standing ovations wherever he performs. His repertoire is extensive and varied, and his rich baritone is equally suited to performing Broadway favorites, Yiddish standards, and Italian arias in addition to his inspirational cantorial singing. He has appeared with major symphony orchestras such as the Baltimore Symphony, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is a composer as well as a singer, and many cantors use his melodies during their Sabbath and High Holiday services. Albrecht is the cantor of Beth Tfiloh Congregation in Baltimore, the largest Modern Orthodox synagogue in America.

Featuring members of the Jewish a cappella sensation A.K.A. Pella, Kol Fusion is a Baltimore-based group comprised of Moshe Abramson, Zevi Daniel, Kenny Friedman and Dovi Ziffer. Formed in 2008, Kol Fusion has performed around the country to rave reviews at Shabbatons, concerts, and smachot.

American Friends of Meir Panim seeks to alleviate the effects of poverty on thousands of men, women and children across Israel by supporting a range of food and social service programs aimed at helping the needy with dignity and respect, including free restaurants, meals on wheels, school lunch programs, prepaid food card distribution, vocational training and after-school youth clubs.
