Over 100 Jewish teens from local public schools, private academies and community day schools will be treated to the highly subsidized Hahn Family ULTRA Weekend from November 8th-11th in North Miami Beach, Florida. Participants from nine  states and 17 public school clubs will gather for a Shabbat experience complete with traditional, spirited meals, leadership training sessions based on Jewish values, a Saturday night Miami Heat game and a full-day trip to Islands of Adventure on Sunday.

“What I find most exciting about the Hahn Family Ultra Weekend is the diversity among the teens,” said Todd Cohn, Southern NCSY’s executive director. “The teens from all different schools and backgrounds will come together for one inspirational, empowerment weekend.”

Director of Advancement Rabbi Benjamin Gonsher added his perspective: “Typically, our conventions are much larger and held in hotels, which doesn’t allow for interaction between the teens and the community. This experience will expose our young adults to real Jewish communities, role models and families. This participation provides an inspiring weekend for ours hosts as well.”

Once a year, Elliot and Lillian Hahn partner with Southern NCSY to host this event. For the past five years the Hahns have been the backbone of this program. They not only give of themselves financially, but also devote their time and effort by coordinating the weekend, spending time with the teens and harnessing community support.
