The Weinbaum Yeshiva High School, a Modern-Orthodox high school in Boca Raton, Florida, is one of the leading academic high schools in the region.

Over the past few years WYHS students have received a multitude of Advanced Placement (AP) honors from the College Board®.   AP courses are rigorous high school courses designed to simulate a college-level class complete with a national end-of-the-year exam administered by the College Board®.

This exam counts as college credit for the individual course when a student scores a 3, 4 or 5 on a 5-point scale.   The exams themselves are considered extremely challenging, drawing on a student’s comprehension of the material covered during the course, as well as their reasoning abilities.

The College Board® awards students who do exceptionally well, on more than one test, with titles recognizing their accomplishments.   An AP Scholar is a student that has an average AP score of three and has taken at least three exams.   The Weinbaum Yeshiva High School has seven students who have achieved such status during the 2007-2008 academic year: Elan Aiken, Eli Baratz, Esther Bitterman, Nonny Gross, Jeremy Hodkin, Max Singer, and Danielle Wolkowitz.

A Scholar with Honors is defined as a student that achieves an average of at least 3.25 and has completed four exams.   This status is held by Alexa Bryn, Ariella Davis, Jessica Friedman, Harry Ganz, Aaron Gold, Jonathan Levenson, Daniel Shimansky, and Yocheved Tirschwell of WYHS.

One of the most prestigious awards given by the College Board® is the tribute of being recognized as an AP Scholar with Distinction.   These students are noted for receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on five or more AP’s.  Shmuel Dresner, Joshua Kaminetsky, Shira Poliak, Michel Skura, Leah Wiznitzer, and Anosh Zaghi, all represent the Weinbaum Yeshiva High School’s top scoring AP Scholars.

The academic success of the Weinbaum Yeshiva High School is clearly highlighted by the school’s outstanding achievements in the rigorous realm of Advanced Placement classes and exams. We commend our College Board® recognized students for their achievements.
