After many Los Angeles high school graduates choose to spend a year studying in seminary or yeshiva in Israel, some return home confused about their next step in life. Some find jobs; others focus on continued education.

By attending Touro College Los Angeles (TCLA), one can do both. TCLA’s schedule enables most students to be full time while also holding part-time or full-time jobs. Classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings for women and Monday and Wednesday nights for men. Most students are off during morning hours and on alternate days, allowing them to work during those hours.

TCLA offers students the opportunity to complete a full four-year degree program in less than four years. Students frequently graduate with a Bachelors degree in psychology or business after two and a half to three years (following their year in Israel). It also offers pre-requisite science classes for those interested in the health science field. Students who’ve learned in Israel generally transfer the approximately 30 credits they’ve earned there, with those credits going toward the Judaic Studies requirement for graduation. And the incentive for attending TCLA directly from seminary or yeshiva and completing college studies there is the chance to complete undergraduate studies in as short a time as two and a half years – considerably less time than at a state or community college.

TCLA’s fall semester begins on August 26. Late registration is in progress. For more information, please call 323-822-9700 x 85155 or e-mail [email protected].
