West Coast News: Vandals defaced a Portland, Oregon synagogue and a community center with racist graffiti. According to The Oregonian, police said that “white power” was written in red spray paint on promotional banners at Mittleman Jewish Community Center and Neveh Shalom, a conservative synagogue. Both institutions are located in southwest Portland… After 20 years as the rabbi at BCMH in Seattle, Rabbi Moshe Kletenik has moved on to a position on the Seattle Vaad. He plans to expand its services and educational programs, and give the beit din more visibility… Doheny Meats is now owned by Rabbi Shlomo Bistritsky, a Chabad rabbi who has lived in Agoura for 22 years. After the Nine Days, the store will open as Beverly Hills Kosher Meat (with RCC glatt kosher supervision). In addition to the RCC mashgiach, the store will have a shomer Shabbos manager, Berel Cohen, who recently moved to L.A. from the Midwest.
