Schools of the prize-winning essayists receive an unrestricted gift of $1,800, and the winners’ choice of an approved charity receives $500.
The essay contest winners were Zevi Gersten, a 7th grade student at Emek Hebrew Academy, and Yaakov Leebhoff, an 11th grade student at Ner Aryeh. Both schools are in Valley Village, California.
