Following February’s North American Inclusion Month (NAIM) by Yachad, the Orthodox Union’s flagship program of its National Jewish Council for Disabilities (NJCD), 30 synagogues from across the country received Yachad’s Inclusive Synagogue Award. The awards were presented in response to Yachad’s challenge to synagogues throughout North America to increase their inclusion of individuals with disabilities. West Coast synagogues that received the award were: Beth Jacob Beverly Hills; Beth Israel, Berkeley; Bnai David-Judea, L.A.; Chevra Thilim, San Francisco; and BMH-BJ, Denver.
