With Tu B’Av – a holiday renowned for women “dancing in the fields” and meeting a man – falling out on Wednesday, August 5, we’d like to share the following annual letter:

Zivug Campaign 2009: Make A Shidduch Beginning This Tu B’Av

Dear IY”H:

We’d like to present the third annual Zivug Campaign.

This Tu B’Av, a special day on the Jewish calendar for shidduchim, we can all begin making a difference in the lives of two single people. If everyone committed to trying to arrange one shidduch by setting up just one couple, it could make a world of difference.

Often we are so busy that we may forget our friends and family who are still searching for their marriage partner.

Some ideas:1. Make lists of all the single men and women you know and see if any of them could potentially match up. Call a friend and compare lists.

2.  Choose one single friend or family member and try making a few calls on their behalf to shadchanim or other contacts.

3.  Think of the people you dated in the past who are still single, and think of anyone you know who may be appropriate.

We know how busy life gets and how there often isn’t time to think about and work on a shidduch. But beginning on Tu B’Av (or anytime after), please take on this challenge and try sharing this article with anyone you know.

In the merit of this campaign, may our single friends and family members merit meeting their zivug before next Tu B’Av.

Sincerely,Nesya and Dovid Jacob Toronto, Canada [email protected]
