The Israel Postal authority and the UN Postal Administration co-issued a Holocaust Remembrance Stamp on January 27, the 64th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The stamp was officially launched at a ceremony on International Holocaust Remembrance Day at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. In attendance were many officials from the UN, Israel, many Holocaust survivors and their descendents.

“The stamp,” said Dan Gillerman, Israeli Ambassador to the UN, “will by it’s very nature travel the world spreading the word to remember what happened during the Shoah and hopefully help in preventing it from ever occurring again.”
