Beer lovers  Kosher Beers has a review of Saranac Chocolate Amber Lager, which it describes as a “dark beer with a rich chocolaty flavor”.  Perfect to be enjoyed on a long Friday night.

Speaking of long Friday nights, and maybe not-so-long Shabbos lunches, there is a new luxury kosher vodka on the market.  It’s called Prairie Organic Vodka, it’s certified by the Orthodox Union, produced by Phillips Distilling Co and has hints of melon, apple and pear.

The LA Times recently featured a story on the area referred to as Glatt Gulch in Los Angeles.  This 15 block run on Pico Blvd is the home to restaurants like Jeff’s Gourmet Kosher Sausage, Haifa Restaurant and Nagila Pizza Dairy.

Its summertime and that means its time for the Star K’s annual kosher slurpee list.  There is even a .pdf version you can print out and carry in your pocket.

The owners of Plum Market are planning to open their largest store in West Bloomfield, Michigan in early 2009.  At this location they plan to offer a large wine department that will offer more kosher wines, much more kosher food.
