Recognizing the growing popularity of Mediterranean accented dairy products among the health conscious, Tnuva has announced the debut of a new “taste” within its series of Labaneh low-fat sour cheese spreads.

Tnuva’s “Labaneh Collection,” which is made in Israel, highlights 91-percent Fat Free Sour Cheese Spread with Za’atar Seasoning & Olive Oil, 95-percent Fat Free Sour Cheese Spread, and the new 91-percent Fat Free Piquant Peppers seasoned Cheese Spread with Olive Oil. The Piquant Peppers spread makes for a delectably tangy addition to toasts, bagels, sandwiches and salads.

Labaneh has been a popular staple on the tables of consumers in the Mediterranean region for hundreds of years. Labaneh highlights a full-bodied texture, is rich in calcium and is also a good source of protein, which is why it has also become an integral part of the trendy “Mediterranean diet.” You can find the Labaneh Collection products in the brightly colored-red, blue and black packages, in the dairy cheese section at your favorite supermarket and grocery store.

Tnuva Labaneh dairy products conform to the highest standards of kashrus, highlighted by the Orthodox Union (OU), Chatam Chug Sofer and Va’ad Mehardin kosher symbols.

No, not Mahna Mahna. Mimouna. Mimouna is a Moroccan celebration of Chametz that takes place right after Pesach ends (which it did tonight). It’s become very popular in Israel, especially among political leaders, as participating in a Mimouna makes you more part of the “Amcha” (the every-day folk). It’s estimated (according to Wikipedia, at least) […]
