Shloime’s mother immediately made plans for the l’chaim, vort, tichel party, wedding, and any other occasion she could come up with where her guests would feel obligated to come with gifts.
Shloime and Gittel were married, and they were happy as could be, especially when shortly after the wedding, Shloime was suddenly transferred to South America to a very important new position in the company – that he simply couldn’t turn down… Or maybe he had asked to be moved… But mother didn’t need to know that, right?
