Purim Party Settings

Everyone is always looking for cute yet simple and inexpensive ideas to enhance their table at special occasions. Here are some attractive ways to create that festive look. Whether you use china or plastic, your guests will surely be delighted with your charming setup.

 

Brown Paper Bag Place SettingOttensessor-030714-Bag

Original, funky and fun these place settings are sure to be a great conversation piece.

Small brown paper bags (I used the 1 lb sacks available at craft stores and cut off 2” from the top of the bag)
Dinner napkins (folded in half)
Paper straw
Cutlery
Twine

 

Directions:

Place the napkin, cutlery and straw in the bag and tie a piece of twine around the bag.

 

Lollipop DécorOttensesor-030714-Lollipop

Irresistible at any age, fun lollipops always have that special appeal.

 

For the napkins:

Start at one corner of the napkin and roll up.

Fold the napkin in half.

Tie a ribbon around the napkin and stick a lollipop in.

 

For the centerpiece:

Place large lollipops into flower arrangements.

Wrap an inexpensive mask around a folded napkin and stick silverware in.

Each year at our family Chanukah party, we try to introduce a new activity, to keep things fun and exciting for the children and adults alike. Last year’s addition – a huge hit – was a menorah-making contest.

As we are surrounded by fall’s beautiful foliage outside, how about bringing some color, creativity and fun indoors as well. This activity is perfect for a long Sunday afternoon – you won’t be“leaf” how much your children will enjoy creating these “tree”ts.

Enjoy this” sweet” new idea for a “Sweet New Year”! A refreshing and very simple idea to finish off any Yom Tov meal.

I’m excited to introduce my new Sukkos decoration concept. I couldn’t help but notice the variety of interesting leathers and vinyls available on the market. Sorting through the many different colors and textures, it dawned on me that I could easily create Sukkos décor using one of my favorite combinations, leather and nail heads.

While all the flowers that grace your Shavuos table will surely be a delight to your eye, these will be a delight for your palette as well. Create them at any level, simple or sophisticated; any way you make them they’re sure to be a sensation.

This Purim let your wine bottles join in the fun – let them dress up too! Use them to compliment your Mishloach Manos or have them make a grand appearance at the seudah. Simple and inexpensive this is a great family project.
