This review was written with laughter and deep appreciation for the author’s keen insight. Perhaps it takes a military veteran of a father such as Thad Kresnesky to teach civilians how to deal with tiny terrorists, even if they’re “only three” and cute as can be.

Parents with a sense of humor will adore the moral of this story as they share it with tots who cleverly know how to manipulate the adults in their life.

The star of the story is Emmy, a rollercoaster of childish fun who ignores her brakes. Her constant excuse for getting out of trouble is “That I’m only three.”

After a few disasters too many, always at the expense of relatives under orders to bear with her alleged learning curve, Emmy’s siblings and parents soon realize that she’s wrapped them around her chubby fingers and cunning ways. They hoist the child on her own petard to ponder the meaning of “behavior.” Emmy then muses, “I sadly closed my bedroom door. I may be here until I’m four.”

The upbeat rhyming lines and gutsy adventures will leave you laughing. The pictures teach as much as the text. The whole family can identify with characters in the story.

I Always, ALWAYS Get My Way is a chance for children to safely recognize themselves as more clever than they’re often taken for. Adults will have a terrific tool for putting their progeny on notice to use better manners and a sense of propriety.

Beleaguered parents will adore this moral lesson of this hilariously illustrated story. Share lap-sized hardcover I Always, ALWAYS Get My Way with your children again and again. Get the whole family on the same page.
