Western governments and even the United Nations have offered unqualified condemnations of Hamas rocket fire at Israeli civilians.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague: “I condemn the firing of rockets into Israel by Gaza-based militants. The UK calls on Hamas and other militant groups to stop these attacks… The people of Israel have the right to live without constant fear for their security; the people of Gaza also have the right to live in peace.’’

Hague added, that ‘’all sides must do their utmost to act with restraint and avoid the loss of innocent life.”

White House spokesman Josh Earnest: “We strongly condemn the continuing rocket fire inside of Israel and the deliberate targeting of civilians by terrorist organizations in Gaza… No country can accept rocket fire aimed at civilians and we support Israel’s right to defend itself against these vicious attacks.”

Canada Minister for Foreign Affairs, John Baird: “Canada is condemning attacks by Hamas on Israel…rocket attacks aimed Tuesday at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem prove that Hamas continues to target innocent civilians.”

United Nations’ Secretary General Ban Ki-moon : “I condemn the recent multiple rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza… these indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas must stop.”

Ban also called on “all actors to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further civilian casualties and overall destabilization.”

This is hands down the best election commercial I’ve seen so far. Netanyahu is a kindergarten school teacher with an unruly class made up of his former coalition partners. Of course, you can always look at it as saying that Netanyahu is unable to control the class, and it’s his fault. Either way, its definitely […]

For years, Binyamin Netanyahu’s views on negotiating with terrorists, and on negotiating under fire have been clear: In his defining treatise on the subject Terrorism: How the West Can Win, Netanyahu spelled out clear guidelines for dealing with the scourge of attacks on civilians. Amongst other principles, the then up-and-coming Likud leader said clearly that terrorists must […]
