Prosecutors Seek Death Penalty for Boston Marathon Bomber

Thursday, January 30th, 2014

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, accused of last year’s deadly Boston Marathon bombing, faces the death penalty, according to a recommendation made last year by federal prosecutors’  but not  made public until Thursday. He was indicted last June 27.

Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him, including using a weapon for mass destruction. Three people were killed and another 260 wounded in the massacre. Of those injured, 16 lost their legs after Tsarnaev allegedly left homemade bombs in crowds near the finish line of the race.

The decision to request the death penalty, as recommended by U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, was announced by the U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, Carmen Oritz, who wrote that Tsarnaev “committed the offense in an especially heinous, cruel, and depraved manner.”

Policed shot and captured Tsarnaev last April, days after the murders. He had hidden in a  boat where he allegedly scrawled in his own blood such statements as, “The U.S. Government is killing our innocent civilians. Can’t stand to see such evil go unpunished.

“We Muslims are one body, you hurt one you hurt us all. Now I don’t like killing innocent people it is forbidden in Islam but due to said [unintelligible] it is allowed. Stop killing our innocent people and we will stop.”

The day before he was arrested, Tsarnaev’s older brother Tamerlan, who also was sought for the massacre, died from gunshot and other wounds during a car chase by police.

He admitted to authorities that Tamerlan was infuriated by the  United States, in particular for what he believed was its attacks on Islam through the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, naturalized as an American citizen in September 2012, was a student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, with a major in marine biology.

Boston Bomber Implicated in 9/11/11 Triple Murder, including 2 Jews

Thursday, October 24th, 2013

As The Jewish Press reported six months ago, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the older brother implicated in the Boston Marathon Bombings may well have been involved in what had been an unsolved triple murder case which also took place in the Boston area.

And what The Jewish Press noted, but which had not yet been widely discussed, is that not only did Tamerlan Tsarnaev know all three of the young men whose throats were slashed open, but that the murders occurred on September 11, 2011, exactly ten years to the day after the Islamist assault on America which resulted in the murder of innocent thousands.

Well, now we have a piece of real evidence linking Tsarnaev to the triple murder.

“According to Todashev, Tamerlan Tsarnaev participated in the Waltham homicides,” federal prosecutors said in a court filing, though they did not elaborate.

According to federal prosecutors in the criminal case against the Dzokhar Tsarnaev, the younger, sole surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon Bombings, a friend of the older brother Tamerlan, Ibragim Todashev, said that Tamerlan “participated in the Waltham homicides.”

Todashev had been a person of interest connected to the Tsarnaevs whom federal authorities were pursuing, but on the day he was interrogated by an FBI agent, he was shot and killed.  That death remains under investigation.

The information became public this week because Dzokhar’s lawyers filed a motion to compel the release of evidence in the possession of the prosecution, including information about the Waltham triple murders. Prosecutors opposed the motion.

Erik Weissman, 31 of Waltham, Raphael Terek, 37, of Waltham and Brendan Mess, 25, of Waltham were murdered on September 11, 2011. Terek and Weissman were Jewish, and Weissman was a graduate of Brandeis University, a Jewish-affiliated school also located in Waltham. At the time of the murders, authorities seemed quick to dismiss the gruesome murder as a drug-deal gone bad, but the fact that there was no sign of forced entry and that more than $7000 worth of marijuana was spread around the three bodies belied this tack.

No one seemed to even notice that the murders took place on the tenth anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

But after the Tsarnaevs were identified as suspects in the Marathon bombings, people who noted at the time of the murders that Tamerlan, who had been very close with one of the three murder victims, never showed up for the funeral or any memorial service, and people began to talk.

Although there has been speculation before that Todashev named Tamerlan Tsarnaev as having been involved in the Waltham triple murder, the documents filed in court this week provided the first official evidence.

Todashev’s death at the hands of an FBI agent who had been interrogating him initially resulted in an outpouring of sympathy for the slain Chechen former wrestler.  However, a former live-in girlfriend’s complaints of abuse by U.S. authorities clashed with the mourning by someone claiming to be Todashev’s widow who had remained overseas during Todashev’s tenure in the U.S.

Of course, there are advocates for people involved in all kinds of unpleasant business. The Florida branch of the Council for American-Islamic Relations, CAIR, requested the US Department of Justice open an investigation into the allegations of civil rights violations and abuse by the FBI of Todashev’s friends.

Dzokhar Tsarnaev Inspired by Hamas Founder, Indictment Reveals

Friday, June 28th, 2013

In the months following the dramatic arrest of 19 year old Dzokhar Tsarnaev, the younger of the two Tsarnaev brothers who were identified in photographs released by the FBI on April 18 as the apparent perpetrators of the Boston Marathon bombings, fan clubs, websites and slogans insisting that “Dzokhar was innocent” popped up. Right.

The older Tsarnaev brother, Tamerlan, died as the two attempted to escape in the early morning hours of April 19.

But on Thursday, June 27, a 30-count indictment was issued against Dzokhar Tsarnaev.

The indictment contradicts some earlier media reports that the younger brother was not a killer, but instead was a thoroughly Americanized, goofy younger brother, a naive accomplice bullied by his older brother into “coming along for the ride” on the killing spree.

For one thing, on the day that their pictures began appearing in the international media, the indictment states that the two brothers allegedly armed themselves not just with improvised explosive devices – the ones we all learned to call the “pressure cookers,” but with a semiautomatic handgun and ammunition and a hunting knife.  Oh, and a machete.  No one does anything nice with a machete.

The brothers killed Mr. Collier that night by shooting him in the head at close range with the handgun and attempted to steal his service weapon, according to the indictment.

The United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, Carmen Ortiz, announced the indictment at a press conference Thursday afternoon.  She explained that Tsarnaev was charged with 4 counts of murder for the three who died from the bombings, and the college security officer, Sean Collier, who was shot at close range on the evening of the brothers’ attempted escape.  Tsarnaev was also charged with “maiming, burning and wounding scores of others.”

Several facts which had not been widely known before were released in the indictment.  Including the fact about the machete.

We learned for the first time that more than a month before the bombing the two brothers went to Manchester, New Hampshire, rented 9mm handguns and 200 rounds of ammunition, and practiced shooting.  This is important, because it shows that the brothers had been planning and preparing for not only the bombing, but for a shootout if they were apprehended.

We also learned that after the pictures of the Tsarnaev brothers began to appear in the media on April 18, and after arming themselves with the IEDs, the gun and ammo and the knives – including the machete – the brothers drove to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, approached safety officer Sean Collier, and shot him in the head at close range, killing him.

The brothers then carjacked a man who was in his Mercedes.  It was Dzokhar who took the victim’s ATM card and withdrew $800 from the victim’s account.  The Tsarnaevs told the victim they planned to take his car to Manhattan.

During the shootout in Watertown, we learned, that Dzokhar drove directly at the officers who were attempting to arrest Tamerlan, and that the younger brother drove over Tamerlan, causing him serious bodily injury.

As everyone already knows, Dzokhar escaped at that point and hid in a boat parked outside a Watertown residence.

But, according to the indictment, the night of April 19, as Tsarnaev hid in the boat, he wrote messages with his own blood, on the inside of the boat.  Those messages are confessions and included, according to Time:

  • “The U.S. Government is killing our innocent civilians.”
  • “Can’t stand to see such evil go unpunished.”
  • “We Muslims are one body, you hurt one you hurt us all.”
  • “Now I don’t like killing innocent people it is forbidden in Islam but due to said [unintelligible] it is allowed.”
  • “Stop killing our innocent people and we will stop.”

The charges against Tsarnaev include 17 different counts that carry the possibility of the death penalty, including the use of a weapon of mass destruction, and other counts for which life imprisonment are potential sentences.

According to Ortiz, it is up to Attorney General Eric Holder to decide whether or not the death penalty is sought, and an announcement will be made when Holder makes that decision.

Muslim Brotherhood Digging Roots in Boston

Tuesday, June 11th, 2013

Good American Muslim citizens in Boston have been shocked to find material in local mosques backed by the Muslim Brotherhood movement and calling for jihad against the United States.

Boston has been eyeballed by anti-jihad monitors since the Boston Massacre in April, carried out by Islamic terrorists Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. They were not known to be part of the Muslim Brotherhood, but they attended mosques that preach radical Islam.

“The fact is that these fellows attended, blocks from their house, a radical mosque that has been the center of controversy in Boston for 10 years,” according to CBN (Christian Broadcast Network), quoting  Charles Jacobs, who heads Americans for Peace and Tolerance. The organization monitors local Islamic radicals.

Referring to the Islamic Society of Boston mosque in Cambridge, Jacobs said, “The founder of that mosque, blocks from where the Tsarnaevs lived and where they prayed, was Abdulrahman Alamoudi.. He is the model of deception in American-Muslim history…

“He…convinced President Clinton and also President George W. Bush that he was precisely the kind of moderate Muslim leader that America was looking for,” Jacobs said. “In fact, he deceived everyone. He’s now in jail for 23 years for giving money, for funding al Qaeda.

Other worshippers at the Cambridge mosque have included an al Qaeda member convicted of plotting attacks on New York City and a man sentenced to 17 years in prison for planning a shooting spree on a Boston-area shopping mall.

One former trustee of the mosque is Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, a Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader and terrorist supporter who’s banned from entering the United States.

The explosive material found in the mosque is not new.

One moderate Muslim leader who visited the mosque 10 years ago told CBN. “We go upstairs and I find the library and it’s full of flyers, full of newsletters in Arabic,” Dr. Ahmed Mansour of the International Quranic Institute said. “And they call for jihad against America and against the Jews and against the Christians.”

The Muslim Brotherhood in the United States hides under the name Muslim American Society (MAS), which the Muslim Brotherhood founded in 1993. and which federal prosecutors have called “the overt arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America.”

MAS opened up another mosque four years the Boston neighborhood of Roxbury and goes by the lovely-sounding name of the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center.

It cost $15,5 million to build. Getting money was no problem. More than half of it reportedly came from Saudi Arabia, the country whose terrorists pulled off the 9/11 terrorist attack.

Both mosques are run by the same leadership and have the same ideology, according to Jacobs.

Massachusetts politicians endorsed the Roxbury mosque although two months earlier, the mosque’s cleric incited Muslims who had been arrested for terrorism.

“Grab onto the typewriter, grab onto the shovel, grab onto the gun and the sword,” Imam Abdullah Farooq told his listeners.

The current imam of the mosque was supposed to attend an event in memory of the victims of the Boston Marathon terror attack, but the governor, the same man who endorsed the Roxbury mosque in 2009, told him he could stay home. The imam, William Suhaib Webb, has been called by many to be a moderate Muslim leader.

But many in his mosque are not happy with his moderation.

When Webb spoke favorably about President Barack Obama, Muslims complained on line, charging the Obama is a “war criminal.”

Webb also said he could nit publicly pray over the body of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon terrorist who was killed in a shootout. Tweet responses scolded him..

However, the situation in Boston and other American cities is approaching that of most European countries where radical Muslims have gained a foothold in their communities to the point that leaders are charged with racism if they oppose them.

“If you question them, even if you question them, you’re a racist, Islamophobic bigot,” Jacobs said.

Mounting Evidence that Boston Bombers Involved in Triple Homicide

Sunday, May 12th, 2013

Mounting evidence indicates that the Boston Marathon bombers were involved in the unsolved murder of three men, two of them Jewish, in a suburb of Boston on September 11, 2011.

Police officials have said that some crime scene forensic evidence was a match to Tamerlane Tsarnaev and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the two brothers who are alleged to have set off two explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon last month, ABC News reported over the weekend. The officials also said records of cell phones used by the brothers put them in the area of the murders on that date.

Three men — Brendan Mess, Rafael Teken and Erik Weissman — were found dead in September 2011 in an apartment several miles from the campus of Brandeis University in the Boston suburb of Waltham.

Jewish Press correspondent Lori Lowenthal Marcus reported two weeks ago, “Despite efforts of officials and the mainstream media to avoid any linkage between the bombings…and a violence emanating from a particular form of radicalized Islam, everyone has now been forced to acknowledge that connection.”

Tamerlane Tsarnaev knew Mess well but did not attend his funeral despite once referring to him as his “best friend,” and participating in boxing and martial arts training together.

The bodies of the three men were discovered with their throats slit and about seven pounds of marijuana dumped on the bodies, as well as $5,000 in cash left behind.

Weissman and Teken were Jewish.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed in a shootout with police several days after the Boston bombing. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was arrested after a shoot-out n which he was seriously wounded, and he was charged with using a “weapon of mass destruction, a charge that could bring the death penalty.

The brothers were identified as suspects after authorities reviewed photos and video taken on the afternoon of the marathon on April 15, when two bombs killed three people and wounded more than 170.

Boston Bombers Wanted to Attack July 4th, but Couldn’t Wait

Friday, May 3rd, 2013

The Boston Marathon bombers had planned to stage a major attack on a crowded area of the city during July 4th Independence Day celebrations, but they struck on Patriots’ Day because they had assembled their pressure cooker bombs sooner than expected.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, whose brother Tamerlan was killed in  the massive manhunt for the perpetrators of the Marathon bombings, told the FBI that had planned grisly “fireworks” by attacking a large celebration along the city’s Charles River.

Having finished constructing the bombs in Tamerlan’s apartment ahead of schedule, they drove around Boston until they decided to strike at the finish line of the Marathon, where three people were killed. Many of the more than 260 who were wounded lost logs and arms.

One law enforcement official told The Washington Post that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s version may not be true because the bombs were so complex that it is not certain they could have built the bombs as quickly as they claim without outside help.

Both law enforcement officials expressed some skepticism about Tsarnaev’s account, saying that the complexity of the bombs made it unlikely that the brothers could have completed them as fast as he claimed.

“Maybe we will never know. This is the story that he is telling us,” the official said.

The younger Tsarnaev said he and his brother struck out of anger at the United States for wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They also were influenced by radical Muslim clerics who incite their followers to kill and be glorified by Allah.

Regardless of whether the brothers acted alone, and regardless of the fine legal point distinguishing between “terrorists” and “murders,” there is a basic similarity between them and terrorist organizations, particularly  Al Qaeda, Hezbollah and Hamas.

All three of these terrorist groups are involved in Gaza, which Hamas controls but with increasing difficulty because of their rivals’ appetite for blood.

That is a common thread, or gene, that seems to connect terrorists and murderers.

Hamas has amassed thousands of tons of explosives and advanced weapons far beyond what most people imagine. Hezbollah in Lebanon has stockpiled so many missiles it has been described as having more  than any government in the world outside of the United States.

Like the Tsarnaev brothers, these terrorist groups live by a creed of  “attack or perish.”

There mission in life is to kill Jews, Westerners, Christians, homosexuals and even Muslims who are in anyway linked to one of the above.

That is why every senior Israeli military officer involved with Gaza and Lebanon has said that it is only a matter of time until the “next round” will come and with worse consequences than the previous.

That’s is why a “ceasefire” agreement is only a pause, and why the “Second Intifada” is not the last.

When Hamas first began attacking Israelis more than 20 years ago, it was with primitive Kassam rockets. With each round of violence, their missiles reached deeper into Israel.

Everyone knows they had longer-range missiles, but the government agreed with “ceasefires” to calm down the terrorists – until their need for rage could not be contained any more.

Before the IDF’s Operation Cast Lead counterterrorist campaign four years ago, Hamas struck Ashkelon and Ashdod.

Before and during the Pillar of Defense campaign last November, they struck Tel Aviv and  the outskirts of Jerusalem.

They have even more devastating weapons, such as anti-aircraft missiles than can down a commercial airline,. That is why military and civilians airlines have changed their landing and take-off patterns to steer clear of Gaza.

And that is why Dzhokhar and Tamerlan did not wait for the Fourth of July.

Unless terrorists and murders disarmed, they usually are driven buy their objective to use the rigger finger, and nothing usually stops them except bullets.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev no longer is around to attack more Americans in Boston, Times Square or anywhere else. Tamerlan probably die in jail if not executed.

No one knows if America is seething with a few, or dozens or hundreds or thousands of terrorist-in-the-making.

But wherever they are, like Hamas, Hezbollah and  Al Qaeda, they will attack as soon as they can – unless someone gets them first.

Obama to Face Questions on Syria in Morning Press Conference

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013

President Barack Obama has scheduled a press conference for 10:15 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday, and he is all but certain to face questions regarding American intentions concerning the use of chemical weapons in Syria and the continuing revelations of faulty intelligence on the Boston Marathon terrorists.

Gun control and spending cuts also may be on the agenda of journalists at the conference.

UN Rights Council’s Falk Blames Boston Terror on US and Tel Aviv

Wednesday, April 24th, 2013

Richard Falk, U.N. Human Rights Council official and the Obama administration’s unofficial pain in the neck, has written that the Boston Marathon terrorist bombings were a cheap price that the United States paid for trying to dominate the world. He also said the government’s supposed “Israel First” policy is also to blame.

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon did not condemn or even hint criticism of Falk’s remarks, explaining through a spokesman that he is “not responsible” for Falk’s “independent views.”

Bitter criticism was fast and furious from other quarters, especially from Jewish groups, but Falk, who has described himself as a Jewish American, never has been bantered by condemnation.

This time around, after years of spitting on Israel, calling it Apartheid and often comparing it with Nazis, Falk castigated the United States and related to the casualties in Boston with a chilling and methodical reasoning of “proportionality” that is shocking coming from anyone, especially a “human rights” activist.

Writing in the Foreign Policy Journal, Falk stated, “The scale and drama of the Boston attack, while great, was not nearly as large or as symbolically resonant as the destruction of the World Trade Center and the shattering of the Pentagon. Also, although each life is sacred, … the Marathon incident has so far produced three deaths as compared to three thousand, that is, 1/1000th of 9/11.”

Of course, 9/11 may actually have been an inside job in Falk’s mind, or whatever makes him tick.

He wrote in 2004 that  the Bush administration may have been complicit in the Al Qaeda- terrorist attacks.

He implied that the U.S. government was involved, writing, “It is possibly true that especially the neoconservatives thought there was a situation in the country and in the world where something had to happen to wake up the American people. Whether they are innocent about the contention that they made that something happen or not, I don’t think we can answer definitively at this point.”

Falk dumbfounded just about anyone who is not anti-American by explaining that the Marathon bombings were to be expected because “the American global domination project is bound to generate all kinds of resistance in the post-colonial world.”

He then went off the deep end altogether, explicitly stating that the United States is darned lucky the attack was not worse, because that is what America deserves.

“In some respects, the United States has been fortunate not to experience worse blowbacks, and these may yet happen, especially if there is no disposition to rethink US relations to others in the world, starting with the Middle East,: he wrote.

Falk almost never can complain about the state of the world without blaming Israel, and this time was no exception.  ”The war drums are beating at this moment in relation to both North Korea and Iran, and as long as Tel Aviv has the compliant ear of the American political establishment, those who wish for peace and justice in the world should not rest easy,” according to him.

“Now at the start of his second presidential term, it seems that Obama has given up altogether, succumbing to the Beltway ethos of Israel First,” he added.

Not surprisingly, Jewish groups demanded that the Council remove Falk from his position, a request that the U.S. government has previously made to no avail.

His “latest string of inflammatory remarks – whether it be on the Internet or in one of his ‘reports’ to the council – has no place in the United Nations and his continued presence at the UNHRC further undermines the credibility of the system,” said B’nai Brith International.

The American Jewish Committee also denounced Falk.

“Here he goes again,” said AJC Executive Director David Harris. “Given his public record, the question is why Richard Falk still occupies a UN position. Is there no shame?

“Falk’s unhinged diatribes against the U.S. and Israel are well-known….

“His malicious propaganda regarding the U.S. and Israel — and his glaring inability to see the stark truth about extremist violence and terrorism — has no place in any international body that takes itself and its mission seriously.”

Falk has a weird history of seeing terrorists and Muslim radicals through the lenses of “Human Rights.”
