Arabs with Bomb Surrender at IDF Base

Monday, October 8th, 2012

In what appears to be a strange story, two Arabs carry an explosive device went up to the gates of the Shomron battalion base and told the guards they were carrying a bomb. The bomb squad was called, and the device destroyed in a controlled explosion.

IDF Thwarts Armed Infiltration Attempt at Gaza Fence Sunday Night

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Remember the adage about how fences make for good neighbors? It turns out they work quite well for bad neighbors, too. Sunday night, IDF soldiers operating along the security fence in the central Gaza Strip identified a suspicious figure digging in the ground, suggesting he was attempting to plant an explosive device. The soldiers tried to distance him by firing at him, confirming a hit.

Early Monday morning, following a search, the terrorist’s body was found with an AK-47 rifle next to it.

The IDF Spokesperson’s office says that during the past week, IDF soldiers have uncovered three explosive devices adjacent to the security fence in the Gaza Strip. All three devices were diffused in a controlled manner.

These events prove that terrorist organizations continue to use the area adjacent to the security fence in the Gaza Strip to plant explosive devices, and execute terror attacks and kidnapping attempts against IDF soldiers.

IDF Sappers Disable Explosives Near Gaza Security Fence

Tuesday, March 27th, 2012

According to the IDF Spokesperson, sappers were called to disassemble an explosive device planted adjacent to the security fence outside the Gaza strip.

“This incident proves, yet again, that terror organizations, headed by Hamas, use the area adjacent to the security fence in order to carry out terror attacks against Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers,” said a statement released by the IDF Spokesperson’s Office. “The explosive device was placed under the cover of fog at the end of last week. IDF soldiers’ alertness prevented a terror attack aimed at them.”

IDF Thwarts Major Terror Attack on Israel-Egypt Border

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

The IDF and Israel Police uncovered a powerful explosive device overnight while on an anti-smuggling operation.

According to the IDF Spokesperson, “Israeli forces that were trying to stop smugglers saw a man throw a suspicious bag and flee the scene. After an examination…it was determined that the bag contained a powerful explosive device. The device was later detonated in a controlled manner.”

The Spokesperson also said that the incident is “a reminder that the smuggling routes on the Israel-Egypt border are constantly used by terrorist organizations to conduct operations against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.”

In 2011, over 15,000 illegal immigrants crossed Israel’s porous border with Egypt.
