Witness Says He Saw Iran Arrest Robert Levinson

Tuesday, December 17th, 2013

An American fugitive living in Iran told the Christian Science Monitor that  he saw six Iranian policemen “detain” Robert Levinson  in 2007.  The account by African-American Dawud Salahuddin contradicts years of denials by Iran that it was not involved with is disappearance.

The U.S. government also has consistently claimed that Levinson traveled to an Iranian Persian Gulf island as a private citizen despite new reports that confirm that the former Jewish FBI agent was working for the CIA when he landed in Iran.

Levinson has met with Salahuddin at a hotel on the resort island of Kish to recruit him as a source, the newspaper said. Salahuddin stated that plainclothes policemen “took me away, and when I left – we were down in the lobby – Levinson was surrounded by four Iranian police.”

Salahuddin spent the night in jail, and when he returned to the hotel the next day, he was told that Levinson has been taken away in custody.

Salahuddin “believes an arrangement may have been reached with Iran to secure Levinson’s release,” according to the Monitor. “So if he shows up in a three-piece suit, clean shaven, and brand new shoes in Muscat [Oman] in the next couple of days, I won’t be the least bit surprised.”

Iran Insists It Has ‘No Traces’ of Robert Levinson

Sunday, December 15th, 2013

Iran knows nothing about the whereabouts of Robert Levinson, the former Jewish FBI agent who was last seen on an Iranian island in 2007. The American government said at the time he was on a private trip, but it has since been revealed he was working for the CIA.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday, “What we know is that he is not incarcerated in Iran. If he is, he’s not incarcerated by the government and I believe the government runs the, pretty much, good control of the country.”

He said that if Levinson is found in Iran, the regime “will certainly discuss” returning him and added, “Everything’s possible but I’m saying that we have no traces of him in Iran.”

AP: Missing Former Jewish FBI Agent Spied on Iran for CIA

Friday, December 13th, 2013

Robert Levinson, a former Jewish FBI agent, was working directly for the CIA on a mission in Iran when he was last seen in 2007, the Associated Press stated in an investigative report.

The U.S. government has claimed that Levinson, who is married and has seven children, traveled to the Iranian resort island of Kish as a private citizen. Kish is a popular tourist spot and also is home to criminals and smugglers.

Calling the case “one of the biggest scandals in recent CIA history,” AP reported that Levinson was paid by CIA analysts who had no authority to run spy operations. It also stated that the CIA got rid of three veteran analysts, disciplined seven others and paid Levinson’s family $2.5 million to keep them quiet instead of filing a lawsuit.

The U.S. State Dept.’s first reaction to Levinson’s disappearance in 2007 was, “He’s a private citizen involved in private business in Iran.”

Since then, the CIA link has been known, but no government official has changed the official line. Authorities also asked and received – three times – the news agency’s cooperation in 2010 not to report more details in order not to interfere with attempts to bring Levinson back home.

The last time that Levinson is known to have been alive was in early 2011, when his family received “proof-of-life” photos.

Haredi Convert to Islam Pleads Guilty to Incitement

Saturday, November 2nd, 2013

A Jewish convert to Islam pleaded guilty to inciting violence, including a call to leave Chabad headquarters in New York “a message from Islam.”

“Yousef Mohamid Al-Khattab (a.k.a. Joseph Cohen), 45, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, pleaded guilty Thursday to using his position as a leader of the ‘Revolution Muslim’ websites to use the Internet to place others in fear of serious bodily injury,” said an Oct. 31 statement from the Alexandria, Va., office of the FBI.

Al-Khattab pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court. He faces a sentence of up to five years when he next appears in court, in February.

Many of his incendiary calls were made during Operation Cast Lead in 2009, among them a call to seek out leaders of Jewish federations “and deal with them in their homes.”

He also posted a map with directions to Chabad headquarters and, according to The Washington Post, called on his readers to “make EVERY attempt to reach these people and teach them the message of Islam or leave them a message of Islam.”

The Post said al-Khattab was a dual Israeli citizen.

A before-and-after photo on the Vosizneias news website showed a younger al-Khattab when he was a haredi Orthodox Jew.

US to Question Al Qaeda Suspect Terrorist on Ship in Mediterranean

Tuesday, October 8th, 2013

American authorities said Monday they will question an Al Qaeda terrorist,  re-captured in Tripoli over the weekend, while he is on a Navy ship in the Mediterranean Sea and without reading him his rights, making it impossible to use the information at a trial.

If the terrorist, Abu Anas al-Libi, reveals the same information after later hearing his rights when questioned again in the United States, the information can be used at his trial, NBC reported.

Interrogators from the CIA, the FBI and Navy officers aboard the USS San Antonio will question al-Libi to learn more about Al Qaeda activities both inside Libya and elsewhere.

Al-Libi has been in custody before for bombing attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Libya 15 years ago. Two other terrorists are at large for the attack, while eight others, including Osama bin Laden, have been killed. Nine are in custody and one has died while awaiting trial.

Report: CIA Kept File on Noam Chomsky

Wednesday, August 14th, 2013

The Central Intelligence Agency has acknowledged after years of denial that it kept a file on Noam Chomsky, though the file appears to have been destroyed.

Chomsky, 84, an American academic who works as a professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was an anti-war activist in the 1970s. He also is a vociferous critic of Israel.

Freedom of Information Act requests to the CIA over the years had not turned up Chomsky’s file, but a request to the Federal Bureau of Investigation by Chomsky biographer Frederic Maxwell turned up a memo between the CIA and the FBI confirming the existence of a CIA file on Chomsky, according to The Cable blog in Foreign Policy.

An expert contacted by the blog said the FBI memo confirms that a Chomsky file once existed, though it was likely destroyed.

KKK Member Tried to Sell X-Ray Weapon to Kill ‘Israel’s Enemies’

Wednesday, June 19th, 2013

Two New York residents, one of them identified with the Ku Klux Klan, tried to sell to Jewish groups a deadly X-ray radiation device that one of them described as “Hiroshima on a light switch” and which he designed to zap people to death, according to the FBI, which unsealed its complaint in Albany on Wednesday.

The FBI charged Glendon Scott Crawford, 49, who is an industrial mechanic with General Electric in Schenectady, and alleged co-conspirator Eric J. Feight, 54, who works for an electronics company in Columbia County, with material support to terrorists, including use of a weapon of mass destruction.

Crawford told undercover FBI agents dujring a year-long investigation that he is “a member of the Ku Klux Klan, specifically, the United Northern & Southern Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.”

His device was designed to be mounted on a truck and remotely controlled with the capability of aiming a laser beam of radioactivity at people.

He searched for a source of radiation and found supposed a ready supplies who actually were FBI agents, working after apparent tip-offs from two Albany synagogues Crawford approached.

He approached one synagogue in April 2012 and “asked to speak with a person who might be willing to help him with a type of technology that could be used by Israel to defeat its enemies, specifically, by killing Israel’s enemies while they slept,” the FBI complaint says.

The “enemies” referred to by Crawford are Muslims and enemies of the United States to whom he referred as “medical waste.”

Crawford contacted a second Albany area synagogue the same day with a similar offer.

The FBI complaint states, “Crawford also told the (FBI source) that the target of his radiation emitting device would be the Muslim community. Crawford described the device’s capabilities as ‘Hiroshima on a light switch’ and that ‘everything with respiration would be dead by the morning.’”

He ended his meeting with the agent by stating, “How much sweeter could there be than a big stack of smelly bodies?”

The investigation advanced to the point that in December, the FBI requested and received a search warrant enabling agents to monitor Crawford’s and Feight’s cell phone calls, emails and text messages.

Crawford had successfully tested the remote triggering system, without a radiation supply, which could work from a little less than a half mile away from the weapon, according to the complaint. The suspects met in Albany on May 20 with the device in hand, and they planned to test it in a dry run out at a hotel, without a radiation system.

Crawford and Feight met again last Wednesday, when Crawford was to have been provided with an unfinished radiation system.

FBI agents, posing as South Carolina Ku Klux Klan members, who were interested in buying the device and financing the plot, arrested them on the spot.
