Towards to the Red Sea

Despite political tensions between countries along the Red Sea, researchers band together to call upon UNESCO to declare the Red Sea’s entire coral reef as a Marine World Heritage Site.

“Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Saudi Arabia must create a joint protection program to remove all anthropogenic stressful conditions."

Saudi Arabia and Egypt are redrawing their mutual maritime boundaries but both say they'll respect the peace treaty.

Critics say the line may endanger coral reefs off the southern coast in the Gulf of Aqaba near Eilat.
