My Chanukah Message: Imagine There’s No Galut (Video)

Tuesday, December 11th, 2012

I usually don’t recommend videos on Youtube, because there’s so much trash posted on the side of Youtube pages, and I don’t want to cause someone to see something he shouldn’t see, and thus transgress the prohibition of putting a stumbling block before a blind man, but this is something you just have to watch. It’s a must! A milestone in Jewish show biz! An incredible, mind-blowing talent!  A singing star is born. The new Mattisiayu, Bob Dylan, and Neil Diamond combined into one Jewish performer with the longest beard you’ve ever seen on stage. Don’t miss it!

Israelis Petition: We Love the Iranian People

Friday, February 24th, 2012

The site www.atzuma.co.il which serves up popular (and less so) petitions by and for Israelis this week featured a new call for support of the idea: We love the Iranian people. The petition proceeds:

By signing we declare that we love every person as a person. We no longer support more wars, which only serve to divert attention from the real discussion. All governments and parliaments only serve a handful of people whose sole purpose is to preserve the class system and slavery in human society. The people of Iran are healthy, beautiful and good, and we want peace and love to inhabit our world.

And so on, not all of it spelled correctly, but with a message that wouldn’t have shamed the 1967 generation. Indeed, one of the signatories is John Lennon, who did not leave a comment, nor a current email address.

So far only 52 Israelis have endorsed the above sentiment.
