Kerry Agrees with Israel: No Foreign Troops on Temple Mount

Monday, October 19th, 2015

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said in Madrid on Monday that the French proposal for foreign troops to maintain order on the Temple Mount is “not needed.”

It was a rare public statement that put Kerry and Israel on the same side and which was expressed hours before Israeli officials spoke to their French counterparts in Jerusalem that the idea is, to be polite, insane.

Kerry told reporters:

We don’t contemplate any change, but nor does Israel. Israel understands the importance of that status quo. What is important is to make sure everybody understands what that means. We are not seeking some new change. We are not seeking outsiders or others to come in….

We need to have clarity.

It is ironic that his remarks were made in Madrid, where the United States launched the “peace process” with the presence of then-Prime Minister Yitzchak Shamir, Jordanian and Egypt leaders, and President George H. W. Bush.

The “clarity” that Kerry said is lacking today has been messing ever since the Madrid conference. It is speculation to ask what would have happened if there had been no “peace process,” but the facts are that since 1991, the ensuing Oslo Accords set the stage for the Oslo War, aka the Second Intifada.

Israel has erased every red line except for the Temple Mount and the “refugee” issue. Concessions have cost the lives and limbs of thousands of Israelis who have been victims of Palestinian Authority “resistance,” the Arabic code word for terror.

The Arabs in Gaza, Judea and Samaria have paid a price not only in casualties but also with a miserable political and economic life that had flourished under the “occupation” until the Egyptian-born Arafat wore his camouflage of a “Palestinian” when he blew in from Tunisia.

Here is what President Bush told Congress several months before the Madrid Conference:

Peace will only come as the result of direct negotiations, compromise, give-and-take. Peace cannot be imposed from the outside by the United States or anyone else

And now Secretary of State John Kerry, even if he had enough common sense to dismiss the absurd French proposal, announces that “clarity” is needed.”

There never has been clarity since 1991 because the Americans and the Europeans cannot understand that Israel and the Arabs world never were talking the same language. The Arab understanding of “peace” is the Jewish State of Israel becoming the Arab state of Palestine.

Ever since, the United States has done the opposite and has imposed conditions on Israel, leaving a “consensus” that a future Palestinian Authority country would include all of Judea and Samaria except for large Jewish population centers such as Maaleh Adumim and Gush Etzion. Israel would have to rely on the PA to protect Jews form terrorists.

That “consensus” no longer exists because the Palestinian Authority, contrary to Bush’s statement, understands “compromise” as “you give, I take.”

It only was a matter of time until the Temple Mount became the excuse for terror and lies that Israel is trying to change the “status quo,” at the same time that the entire Arab world is trying to change it by declaring, “No Jews allowed.”

Today, Kerry’s simple words that rejected the French proposal for foreign troops are nothing short of a shock for the Arab world. The Palestinian Authority, which called for U.N. intervention to stop alleged “excessive violence” by Israel, never intended that and never would accept non-Muslims guarding the Temple Mount.

But the fact that Kerry said out loud that Israel understands the need to preserve the status quo is a clear signal to Mahmoud Abbas that he also has to do so.

The Arab arson of Joseph’s Tomb and the attacks by Palestinian Authority police on Jews who arrived at the holy site have finally forced the Obama administration to take a stand, and it clearly is not with an ISIS-like theology against non-Islamic holy sites.

Arabs Set Fire to Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem, Pushed Back by PA Police

Friday, October 16th, 2015

Several hundred Palestinian Authority Arabs Thursday night set fire to parts of the Joseph’s Tomb compound in the site of biblical Shechem, using firebombs. Palestinian police removed the rioters and put out the fire.

The IDF is planning to renovate the compound to facilitate the entry of Jewish worshipers again.

A military spokesperson said the IDF strongly condemns any violation of holy sites, views the incident as extremely serious and is determined to locate and arrest the perpetrators. Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan said in a statement:

As a Jew, I must express deep shock at this terrible act. I believe that everyone in the free world will condemn this barbaric and criminal act, igniting one of the holiest places for the Jewish people, which is a historical relic for the entire world.

This is the barbarism of the Palestinian Authority and its leader, yet another act that proves we can’t trust this ‘partner.’ I call on the prime minister to immediately return the IDF forces to Joseph’s Tomb, since it’s obvious that otherwise there is no one to take care of this important relic for us. It is Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas’s responsibility, and he should be held accountable.

Joseph’s tomb has been venerated throughout the ages by Jews, Christians, and Samaritans. After Judea and Samaria were restored to Israel in 1967, the shrine was gradually turned into a Jewish prayer room. Friction and conflict from competing Jewish and Muslim claims over the tomb became frequent, and, eventually, the site fell under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority according to the Oslo Accords that specifically stated that Jews would have free access to the holy site.

In 2000, just after being handed over to the PA, Joseph’s Tomb was looted and razed by an Arab mob. Starting in 2002, Jewish groups returned to the site intermittently. Between 2009 and 2010 the structure was refurbished, including a new cupola, and regular visits by Jews have resumed.

On April 24, 2011, PA police opened fire on three cars of Israeli worshipers after they finished praying at Joseph’s Tomb, killing as Israeli citizen and wounding three others.

An IDF investigation concluded that the Palestinian Authority police officers had acted “maliciously” and with the intent to harm the Jewish worshipers. Then-IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz declared that the Arab policemen fired “without justification and with no immediate threat to their lives.”

On July 7, 2014, Arabs tried to burn down Joseph’s Tomb during a riot, but Palestinian Authority security forces were able to stop the rioters before they could level it.

On December 22, 2014, Jews who were visiting the tomb to light Chanukah candles discovered that the site had been vandalized. Lights were broken and electrical wiring had been cut.

PA Terror Cell Arrested for Plotting to Shoot Jews at Joseph’s Tomb

Tuesday, August 25th, 2015

Israel security forces have arrested an Islamic Jihad in Samaria terror cell for plotting to plant bombs and shoot at Israeli civilians at Joseph Tomb (Kever Yosef).

The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the IDF arrested the cell earlier this week and lifted a gag order on the operation Tuesday afternoon.

The cell received directives from Rafat Mohamed Darwish, an Islamic Jihad terrorist operating in Gaza and who is responsible for connecting the terrorist organization with operatives in Judaea and Samaria Region.

Darwish was in charge of arming the cell in order to execute the attack.

Members of the cell arrested are:

Nisim Mohammed Ramdan Rashid Damiri, 30, is of Tulkarm, located east of Netanya. Damiri has been previously arrested on multiple occasions and associated with the Tanzim terrorist group;

Mohammed Mufak Rafik Damiri, 23, also from Tulkarm (’92) and who served as a Palestinian policeman;

Yasir Gaudet Abed Zaruri, 35, a former Hamas terrorist from Shechem and who previously has been arrested; and

Aduen Padel Hassan Nazel, 24, from the village of Qabatiya, south of Jenin in northern Samaria. .

The investigation revealed that each member of the cell held a specific position, such as acquiring weapons, gathering intelligence and executing the attack.

The residents of Nablus and Qabatiya were in charge acquiring the weapons, training and logistics, while the residents of Tulkarm were responsible for executing the attack. Nisim Damiri was planning to execute the attack, and Mohammed Damiri gathered intelligence information regarding the worshipers’ activities in Joseph’s Tomb.

Zaruri admitted to agreeing to teach Nisim Damiri how to prepare an improvised explosive device (IED).

Nazel revealed he was contacted by Darwish from Gaza, who asked him to supply the cell with weapons for the attack.

The case has been transferred to the Military Court in the in the Samaria Region in order to indict the four terrorists.

IDF spokesmen added:

The investigation revealed the clear and continued intent of operatives in the Gaza Strip to recruit terrorists as well as direct and lead terror activities in the Judea and Samaria Region.

Palestinian Authority Arabs Hurl Firebomb at Jews at Yosef’s Tomb

Thursday, June 18th, 2015

Palestinian Authority Arab terrorists hurled a firebomb at Yosef’s Tomb (Kever Yosef) Wednesday night as 1,500 Jews were arriving from all over the country for prayers marking the beginning of the month of Tammuz.

The Molotov cocktail hit one of dozens of parked buses that had brought worshippers to the holy site.

No one was injured and no damage was reported, but in subsequent clashes, the IDF shot and wounded two rioters.

Like Kassam rockets that land in “open areas” and rock throwing at Jewish motorists who are not hit, the firebombing attack was reported only on the Hareidi Kikar Shabbat website.

Kever Yosef is one of the holy places specifically designated in the Oslo Accords – remember them? – that guarantees Jewish access. That ended almost 15 years ago when the Israeli government allowed the Palestinian Authority to take over the holy site, which was desecrated dozens of times before someone in the IDF finally listened to Jewish leaders in Samaria and decided that perhaps they have a right to pray there.

This is an old story that is repeated over and over, but it is far more significant today, when Israeli political and religious leaders are fighting each over who can get the biggest headline to condemn the band of Jewish idiots who tried to burn down a church on the shores of Kinneret early Thursday morning.

The condemnation was necessary and not out of proportion. Whenever a Jew desecrates a place of worship, he violates Jewish law and Israeli law and needs to be locked up.

The firebomb at Kever Yosef was not shoved to “news briefs” because of the arson. It simply was not reported at all.

This just shows how much the world expect Jews to behave as God told them to behave and how much the world accepts Arab intolerance as a fact of life, which it is.

Arabs Imitate Ancient Greeks and Vandalize Joseph’s Tomb

Monday, December 22nd, 2014

More than 1,000 Jews visiting Joseph’s Tomb (Kever Yosef) in Shechem Sunday night discovered that Palestinian Authority Arabs vandalized the holy site for the umpteenth time.

The vandals destroyed the electric system, but the Jews, under IDF protection, lit a menorah on the sixth night of Hanukkah, which commemorates the victory of the Maccabeans over the Greek conquerors who desecrated the Holy Temple nearly 2000 years ago.

Israel surrendered open access to Joseph’s Tomb in 2001 after a terrorist attack, allowing a violation of the Oslo Accords protecting the rights of all religions to visit holy sites to become an accepted principle.

Leftists and plain President Obama-Arabs read the news differently.

The “Alternative News. Org” website reported, “1,000 Israelis raided the northern West Bank area of Nablus [Shechem] Sunday night to pray at Joseph’s Tomb, located on the outskirts of the city….

“Joseph’s Tomb is located in Area A of the West Bank, under full security and administrative control of the Palestinian Authority (PA). Although entry into Joseph’s Tomb requires permission and coordination with the PA, the Israeli civilians and troops entered without either.”

Every time a Jew visits the Temple Mount or Joseph’s Tomb, and soon the Dead Sea can be added to the list, it is a “raid.”

As for the report that they entered without permission, the IDF told The Jewish Press Monday morning that simply is not true. “There was coordination,” a spokeswoman said.

Alternative News also conveniently omitted the wording of the Oslo Accords that specifically reserves the rights of Jews to visit Joseph’s Tomb, among others, and requires “both sides shall respect and protect the listed below religious rights of Jews, Christians, Moslems and Samaritans.”

Peres: Israel Won’t Tolerates Attacks on Holy (Christian) Sites

Monday, December 30th, 2013

President Shimon Peres delivered a Christian New Year’s message enthusiastically proclaiming that Israel “will continue to guarantee access to holy sites for all” in the wake of recent “price tag” attacks on Christian sites.

“There is no place for violence in our society, even more so when it targets people or places of faith,” he said in remarks that have not been heard often, if it all, following official Palestinian Authority policies to obstruct Jews from praying at holy sites in Judea and Samaria.

President Peres hosted a reception on Monday at his residence in Jerusalem for the heads of the Christian denominations in Israel and said, “The State of Israel will not tolerate aggression against members of the clergy. I feel angry at the insults some religious leaders in Israel have faced recently. Israel has always been and will always remain committed to freedom of worship, freedom of religion.”

That is not entirely true. Jews are not free to pray on the Temple Mount; they need armed escorts to pray at Joseph’s Tomb (Kever Yosef) in Shechem; they often are victims of rock throwing at Rachel’s Tomb (Kever Rachel), despite its being surrounded by a wall; anti-Semitic vandalism often takes place at the Patriarchs’ Cave (Ma’arah HaMachpela) in Hevron; and the ancient synagogue in Jericho is usually out of bounds.

Any Jew trying to visit the ancient synagogue in Samoa, in the southern Hevron Hills, would leave in a coffins, or if lucky, on a stretcher.

Peres again offered his solution to the problems between Arabs and Jews. Just give the Arabs what they want, and there will be peace.

“Our peace talks with the Palestinians are ongoing; they are the greatest promise for our people and for the Palestinians,” in remarked. “An agreement between us can bring a change in the relations between Jews and Muslims and between all faiths.”

At least this time he said an agreement “can” bring peace instead of stating it “will” bring peace, just like every other agreement the past decades only brought war.

Greek Orthodox Patriarch His Beatitude Theophilos III told the invited guests on behalf of the Christian leader, “We take this opportunity to express our appreciation in particular to you, Mr. President for the determined and strong voice that you have been raising in condemning the wave of ‘Price Tag’ crimes in our country, and especially in Jerusalem….

“In order to avoid repeating the mistakes of bitter experience, there is more that can be done, both to facilitate access to the Holy Places for pilgrims from a distance as well as from our local communities.”

Of course, he did not remind anyone that until 1967, when Israel took back sovereignty of Judea and Samaria and all of Jerusalem after nearly 2,000 years and opened all holy sites to all religions, they were closed under the Jordanian occupation.

IDF Arrests PA Security Officers Who Murdered Jew

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013

Israeli soldiers on Tuesday arrested three Palestinian Authority security officers who murdered 24-year-old Ben-Yosef Livnat at Joseph’s Tomb two years ago but spent only one year in a PA jail before being freed.

An IDF investigation of the incident confirmed Palestinian Authority claims that Livnat and other Jews tried to enter the holy Jewish site without coordinating with the military but added that the Palestinian Authority security officers “fired deliberately and with intention to harm the worshipers.”

Tuesday’s arrests were carried out by the IDF in Samaria. The Palestinian Authority had refused an Israeli request in 2011 to turn them over to the IDF.
