Abbas’ Gift to US: A ‘Childish” Portrait of Obama and Lincoln

Thursday, March 21st, 2013

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas gave visiting President Barack Obama a portrait of his guest with Abraham Lincoln, the quality of which was panned in a Tweet published by the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency.

“Oh. My. Lord what is that gift Abbas just gave Obama? Is that a painting of Obama and Lincoln? Looks like a 5-yr-old drew it,” stated the Tweet.

As Obama and Abbas talked in Ramallah, Palestinian Authority police fought off demonstrators who tried to break through five rows of armed security officers.

Abbas Reportedly Will Accept ‘Unannounced’ Settlement Freeze

Thursday, March 21st, 2013

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas supposedly is willing to accept an unannounced freeze on building by Jews in Judea and Samaria in order to pave the way for a return to talks with Israel, according to The New York Times.

The newspaper more often than not follows the Obama administration policy line and serves as vehicle to float its ideas.

A document authored by PA negotiator Saeb Erekat was document quoted by the Times stated that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu “can pledge to you [presumably Obama] secretly that he will stop settlement activities during the period of negotiation.”

An “unnanounced” freeze would be Abbas’ grandiose “concession” to Israel, allowing Netanyahu to freeze building without officially admitting it to the nationalist Jewish Home party, a key partner in the new coalition government.

Whether true or not, the report will help President Obama put more pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu to let both Abbas and the American government to climb down from the weak limb of the “peace process.” which has been the corner stone of American involvement in the attempt by the Palestinian Authority to establish an independent country based on the Temporary Armistice Lines drawn in 1949, otherwise known as the Green Line.

Here Is What Obama Won’t See in Ramallah

Thursday, March 21st, 2013

President Barack Obama’s helicopter touched down in Ramallah Palestinian Authority headquarters shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday, preventing him from seeing the “unwelcome” signs that were posted in the area.

President Obama immediately began discussions with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas after an extremely brief welcoming ceremony.

Signs that Obama did not see, according to the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency, were:

– Obama: Stop supporting Israeli war crimes;

– USA-Israel-UK: The triangle of horror;

– USA is a party to the conflict and is not neutral; and

– USA voted for occupation Nov. 29, 2012

Approximately 300 protesters gathered in Ramallah’s downtown square and shouted slogans of incitement and outright calls for attacks on Israel.

Among the shouts were, “We don’t want anything peaceful, only bullets and missiles,” and other called Obama a “devil.”

Obama Fudges Facts on PA Terror and Israeli Security

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013

President Barack Obama distorted Palestinian Authority terror at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Wednesday night and asserted that 2012 was a good year in Judea and Samaria because no one died from terrorist attacks.

He also implicitly stated Israel could settle for less than total security so long as the possibility of rocket attacks from Judea and Samaria were “diminished.”

President Obama tried to minimize his comments on the “peace process” during the “Barack and Bibi” show, which showed that they are the best of chums who never disagree.

The president called Netanyahu “Bibi” several times, and both of them poured lavish praise on each other while being remarkably honest on Iran. Prime Minister Netanyahu admitted for the first time that President Obama is correct in saying that Iran is at least a year from manufacturing a nuclear weapon. He differentiated between Iran’s ability to make a weapon and its capability to produce enough enrich uranium for one.

It was the “peace process” that prompted comments from the president that were enough to show that his advisers still think terrorist attacks, at least in Israel, are only dangerous when people are killed. That was the same kind of thinking that kept Israel from striking at Hamas terrorists in Gaza so long as rockets landed in “open areas” and wounded “only” a few farmers and foreign workers. After missiles started wounding and murdering civilians closer to Tel Aviv last November, Israel finally “had a right to defend itself.”

President Obama made two statements that ignore reality and which will give him the excuse to lecture Israelis at his speech at the Jerusalem Conference Center Thursday night that Israel faces disaster if it does not admit that the country cannot exist so long as Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria remain an “obstacle” to a Palestinian Authority state.

First of all, the president said that there was not a single death in Judea and Samaria in 2012 due to Palestinian terror.

Secondly, he stated that a peace agreement with the Palestinian Authority cannot be concluded until Israelis feel that the possibility of rocket attacks has “diminished.” He did not say that there should be “no chance” of missile attacks but only that the “possibility of rockets has diminished.”

A “diminishing” possibility is what the United States and well-meaning starry-eyed Israeli dreamers, like President Shimon Peres, supposedly created in 2005 with the expulsion of Jews and the withdrawal of all Israeli soldiers from Gaza.

Knesset Members scoffed at right-warnings that rockets would land on Ashkelon, let alone Tel Aviv. President Peres found himself stating later that he simply cannot understand why Hamas would attack Israel with rockets after the withdrawal from Gaza.

Obama’s mention that no one died in attacks from Judea and Samaria last year is even more off the mark.

First of all, there were many serious injuries.

Secondly, an infant’s life is hanging in the air at this very moment after last week’s savage rock-throwing terrorist attack on a central Samaria highway. The rock-throwers achieved their aim of causing a crash, similar to the fatal accident in Kiryat Arba in September 2011 that killed Asher Palmer and is two-year-old son. But that happened less than four months before 2012, so Obama could forget about it in his wrap-up for the year. And last week’s attack is in 2013, so that also does not count.

Thirdly, the reason there were no deaths is not because Palestinian Authority terrorists did not try but because the IDF has been able to deploy from within Judea and Samaria to prevent them, an impossibility if Mahmoud Abbas takes full control of Judea and Samaria and excludes the IDF.

Here is only a partial list from the IDF on terrorist activity in 2012 and not including daily rock-throwing and firebombing attacks.

– IDF forces stopped a would-be bomber over Passover at a checkpoint east of Shechem (Nablus) in northern Samaria. The terrorist was carrying improvised explosive devices, three knives and 50 bullets.

– Two Palestinian teens carrying bombs and guns were nabbed by Israeli forces in northern Samaria.

– IDF forces uncovered four improvised bombs on two Palestinians at a crossing north of Jericho.

Obama Limo Towed Away after Wrong ‘Fill’er Up’

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013

One of the American staff taking care of President Barack Obama’s visit put the wrong gas in the president’s limousine, disabling it and leaving officials scurrying for a replacement stored in Jordan.

The staff member, whose face should be red as a beet, apparently got mixed up between benzene and diesel fuel.

The president’s personal limousines arrived separately on one of two large C-17 cargo planes that also brought two of the president’s Marine One helicopters, Black Hawk helicopters, hundreds of security guards, and a “nuclear briefcase,” Yisrael HaYom reported Wednesday.

One of the limousines was supposed to wait for President Obama in Jerusalem, where he arrived by helicopter.

After the foul-up was discovered, before the president landed at Ben Gurion Airport, an American helicopter flew to Jordan to bring the second limousine. Details were sketchy, but it may have been the second of the president’s limo that was on hand for the president’s short visit there before he flies back home from Israel Friday afternoon.

The limo is an armored Chevrolet known as “The Beast,” as illustrated in the video below.

New York Rabbi’s Daughter to Sing Star Spangled Banner for Obama

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013

Adina Feldman, who lives in Israel and is the daughter of a Queens rabbi and social worker, will sing The Star Spangled banner, without musical accompaniment, when visiting President Barack Obama appears at the Jerusalem Convention Center Thursday evening.

Adina Feldman, 50, lives in Har Adar, a Jewish community in Samaria, and also teaches at HebrewUniversity.

She wrote on her Facebook page Monday, “Adina is delighted to announce that she has been invited by the American Embassy to perform” the anthem for the president… Stay tuned for updates on this momentous opportunity.”

Unlike Beyonce, who lipped-sync during President Obama’s second inauguration, Feldman will sing live at the event, which is  is billed as the highlight of President Obama’s trip.

She told The New York Daily News Wednesday, “I’m singing a cappella so that would be really hard. I will be living and breathing every single word. Every singer’s nightmare is that you’d forget your text, but when you make the words and feelings your own, there’s no need for the help.

“It is a great honor that merges my two worlds. My life is New York and Israel.  I keep thinking about how I want to get the beautiful anthem across. It is so, so meaningful to me.”

Feldman attended Queens College and New York University before moving to Israel and regular appears in Israel, including an annual concert in Tel Aviv on September 11 in memory of those who were murdered in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

She lives in the community of Har Adar, on the western edge of Samaria, and travels to New York several times a year to perform, and plans to appear later this year in a two-woman show entitled “The Rabbi’s Girls Present: Songs of Religion and Rebellion.”

Peres Thumps the Bible for Obama

Wednesday, March 20th, 2013

President Shimon Peres put an emphasis on the Bible and its importance to the United States as well as Israel in his welcoming speech to President Barack Obama at Ben Gurion Airport shortly after noon Israeli time Wednesday.

“In a few minutes, you will be on your way to Jerusalem. Our ancient capital. The cradle of all believers, of all prayers,” President Peres said. “You will see the hills and mountains where our prophets preached. Where the soul of the Jewish People was born. Where the State of Israel was created.

“America and Israel are somewhat different in size. In size, not in destiny. The American dream stems from the Bible….

“America stood by our side from the very beginning. You supported us as we rebuilt our ancient homeland. As we defended our land. From Holocaust to redemption. From Truman to Obama.

Mr. President, Wherever you go in our land, you will meet the friendship and warmth of the people of Israel. The people of Israel want you to feel at home. Welcome home Mr. President.”
