UPI reports that Four shows by French comedian Dieudonne M’bala M’bala in Montreal have been canceled, as a result of protests by Jewish groups.
M’bala was scheduled to perform at the Corona Theatre starting Monday, but the theater announced on Friday that the shows were canceled “due to contractual conflicts.”
Promoter Evenko, who booked the shows, promised to be “more sensitive” about his future bookings.
In 2008, in Paris, Dieudonné awarded the Holocaust denier Robert Faurisson an “insolent outcast” prize (prix de l’infréquentabilité et de l’insolence). The award was presented by an assistant dressed in a concentration camp uniform with a yellow badge. The incident ended in Dieudonné’s sixth court conviction on charges of anti-Semitism.
In 2009 Dieudonné celebrated the 80th birthday of Faurisson in his theater, with a crowd of Holocaust deniers, right-wing radicals, and radical Shiites. Dieudonné and Faurisson further appeared together in a video making fun of the Holocaust and its commemoration.Jewish Press News Briefs
