Ukraine Hatzalah Chief Stabbed in Antisemitic Attack

Friday, March 14th, 2014

Rabbi Hillel Cohen, the chairman of Hatzalah Ukraine was attacked and stabbed in Kiev, according to a report by Rotternik.

Cohen was on his way to the Kiev hospital to visit a sick Jewish tourist who had been hospitalized a few weeks earlier.

Passing through an alley on the way to the hospital, Cohen was attacked in broad daylight by two youths, at 10 AM on Thursday.

Cohen was hit hard by the attackers, who yelled “Zhid” (Jew) at him, and other words in Russian.

Cohen was knocked down, injuring his hand in the fall. At that point the attackers began to stab him in the leg and back.

After the attackers ran away, Cohen managed to drag himself to the main street and catch a taxi which took him to the hospital.

In January of this year, an Orthodox student in Kiev (picture above) was also attacked in a violent antisemitic attack. The attack was part of a series of attacks that were specifically targeting Jews.

The photographer who took the photo attached to this article was Rabbi Hillel Cohen of Hatzalah Ukraine.

In an interview published Thursday in the Jewish Daily Forward, Ira Forman, the Obama administration’s special envoy on anti-Semitism, disputed claims by Russian President Vladimir Putin that Ukrainian revolutionaries were spreading hatred of Jews. Forman said Putin’s assertions were not credible.

“We have no indication that what President Putin has been saying about anti-Semitism has been a true reflection of what’s happening on the ground,” he said.

Tell that to Rabbi Cohen.

While there are Shelichim (emissaries) in the Ukraine doing important work, last week JewishPress.com reported on a group of Jews who want to make Aliyah. Maybe it’s time.

South Tel Aviv Residents Protest, to Taunts by African Infiltrators and Leftists Enablers

Monday, June 24th, 2013

On Sunday evening, a hundred residents of south Tel Aviv, as well as former MK Michael Ben-Ari, demonstrated in Neve Sha’anan’s Levinsky Park, following the stabbing spree carried out by the illegal African infiltrators that have taken over this section of Tel Aviv.

The protesters claimed that the police have abandoned their neighborhoods, and have not done anything to stop the downward slide that has turned this Tel Aviv neighborhood into the most dangerous place in Israel.

Violence, stabbings, rape, and shootings have become commonplace.

During the protest, police kept thousands of African infiltrators as well as the members of Leftwing activist groups that enable and help these illegal infiltrators, away from the protesters, though that didn’t stop both the infiltrators and activists from jeering and taunting the Tel Aviv residents.

Still, it was probably the most police protection these citizens have received in months.

Arab Terrorist Gets Out of Prison, Murders Israeli in the Shomron

Tuesday, April 30th, 2013

At Tapuach junction (Samaria / Shomron), connecting traffic from Jerusalem, Ariel and Tel Aviv, an Arab terrorist, on Tuesday morning, stabbed and killed an Israeli man (32), grabbed his gun and started shooting at the nearby IDF Border Police. The victim was Evyatar Borovsky a resident of Yitzhar, and actor, and the father of 5 children.

The IDF Border Police unit shot back hitting the terrorist in the leg. The terrorist was transported to Beilinson (Rabin) hospital.

It is not clear why they shot the terrorist in the leg, and not the head.

The Fatah terrorist had been released from Israeli prison just 6 months ago, after serving 3 years for another terror attack involving planting a bomb.

The terrorist’s brother is in a Palestinian Authority prison for allegedly collaborating with Israel.

The nearby strategic checkpoint, a mere 30 meters north of where the terror attack took place, that protected the area was removed a few months ago, under orders of former Defense Minister Ehud Barak, due to pressure from the radical-leftwing NGO Machsom Watch.

Last night, two terrorists were caught at the same location carrying a firebombs and knives, as reported by HaKol HaYehudi.

There have been 4 terror attempts at this junction in the past month alone.

Deputy Minister Tzipi Hotoveli (LIkud) said, “The terror attack in the Shomron is a direct result of the incitement coming from the heart of the [Palestinian] Authority against Israel and the Jewish people, and the responsibility falls on the [Palestinian] Authority and those that stand at its head”.

Rabbi Chaim Goldberg, the Rosh Yeshiva of a Kedumim High School, told the Tazpit News Agency that as he approached the Tapuach Junction he noticed there was mayhem: “I saw three young women jump into the street. I then heard shots fired. I noticed a person who was lying on the ground get up with a gun in his hand. I slowed down and ducked so he wouldn’t see me. I then called the emergency center to notify them about the incident. I now understand that the terrorist nabbed the gun from the Jew he murdered and I was the first target he saw.”

Several bullets hit his vehicle, but he was not injured.

Evyatar Borovsky’s funeral will begin at 5:30 PM in Kfar Chassidim.
