Dermer ‘Breaches Protocol’ and Backs the Patriots

Monday, February 2nd, 2015

Israel Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer joked about White House complaints that he breached protocol and tweeted on Sunday, “Breaking Protocol, Choosing Sides: Go Patriots.”

The Obama administration has publicly charged with Dermer for “breaking protocol”  by not directly informing the administration that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will speak to Congress in March. Netanyahu is expected to use the occasion to deliver a broadside at President Obama’s insistence to veto any Congressional bill for sanctions against Iran.

Dermer has been under the gun on both sides of the Atlantic, so he used the Super Bowl as an opportunity to lighten things up a bit with his Tweet.

The Ambassador has denied he was at fault and told Jeffrey Goldberg in an interview Friday, “It was the speaker’s responsibility and normal protocol for the speaker’s office to notify the administration” that Netanyahu was invited to speak to Congress.

In the commercial, Favre opens “Favre and Carve,” a charcuterie shop, and ex–Cowboys guard Larry Allen opens Larry’s All-Pro Tow.

The video also shows Steelers fullback Franco Harris, who is nicknamed “The Immaculate Reception” because of a fabulous catch in a game, bursting from a cake in a promo for his company called, of course,  Immaculate Receptions.

Super Bowl commercials also Weill show the first ad created by an Israel advertising agency, Yehoshua TBWA will be the first Israeli advertising agency to screen an Israeli ad during the Super Bowl – the US National Football League (NFL) championship game.

Maker of ‘White House Drone’ Adds Upgrade to Protect White House [video]

Thursday, January 29th, 2015

The Chinese manufacturer of the drone that crash landed on the White House lawn earlier this week is upgrading its product so that it automatically will be disabled within a 15.5 mile radius of Washington.

That is good news for the Secret Service, which won’t have to worry about pulling out sub-machine guns to shoot down drones over the White House.

The drone that crashed on the White House lawn in the pre-dawn hours was piloted by a government employee, who was drunk. He was not arrested

DJI, based in China, said it has developed a code to make a designated area off limits for drone pilots.

Drones have become popular as toys for children who do not want to do something more constructive, such as building a drone out of Lego, and they also are great for drug dealers.

One of DJI’s drones was found last week near the U.S.-Mexican border with an illegal drug taped to its body.

Super Bowl fans have been warned not take drones to the big game this Sunday.

“With the unmanned aerial systems community growing on a daily basis, we feel it is important to provide pilots with additional tools to help them fly safely and responsibly,” said DJI spokesman Michael Perry. “We will continue co-operating with regulators and lawmakers to ensure the skies stay safe and open for innovation.”

President Barack Obama now does not have to worry about drones interfering with his sleep at night, but maybe he should buy one of those drones to improve his golf game.

All he is to do is place a golf ball on the drone’s delivery system and aim it for the 17th tee.

The video warning against drones at the Super Bowl can be seen below.

Will BDS Movement Boycott Whirlpool over Ties with SodaStream?

Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

KitchenAid, a subsidiary of the giant Whirlpool appliance conglomerate, has announced it is working with the Boycott Israel-targeted SodaStream company by introducing its own countertop soda maker using SodaStream’s flavors.

That should make the BDS Movement bubble over with anger at KitchenAid’s hooking up with a company that exploits Palestinian Authority worked by employing them at five times the wages they could be making if they worked for their brethren.

SodaStream’s sin, in the eyes of the Boycott Israel squad, is operating a factory in the forbidden Occupied West Bank, otherwise known as the Mishor Adumim industrial area of the city of Maaleh Adumim, Israel.

SodaStream has become more of a household name thanks to its commercials that have run for two consecutive years during the Super Bowl break and more recently because of its hiring actress Scarlett Johansson as its world ambassador. Thanks to the Boycott Israel’s attempt to place an international embargo on SodaStream as well as Scarlett’s films, SodaStream won even more publicity.

The BDS crowd went after the lady for the alleged hypocrisy of promoting both SodaStream and Oxfam, one of the lovers of anti-Israel campaigns. Scarlett came out swinging for SodaStream and ditched Oxfam, ignoring charges that she did so only for the money, which she hardly is lacking. It never crossed the minds of the Israel haters that maybe, just maybe, she acted out of principle and not principal.

One way or the other, KitchenAid now has stepped up to the plate. Like any good corporation, it is interested in principal and certainly took into account that by teaming up with SodaStream it and its parent company Whirlpool could face the same boycott campaign that tried to bring SodaStream to its knees.

BDS took credit for the recent sharp drop in SodaStream’s stock, without noting that the shares sank because of a warning that earnings would not be up to snuff last quarter. Boycott Israel did not take the credit for the recent rise in the price of SodaStream shares after the actual earnings weren’t so bad after all.

So let’s see the BDS Movement do without KitchenAid mixers and blenders and announce a worldwide boycott on Whirlpool refrigerators and freezers until KitchenAid stops helping SodaStream markets its homemade sodas.

And coffee makers.

The Boycott Israel folks can get also get rid of their Maytag washing machines, their driers, Whirlpool BBQ grills, microwave ovens and trash compactors.

Whirlpool is a corporate giant, with nearly $19 billion sales last year, more than 35 times more than SodaStream’s revenues, so get going, BDS.

Whirlpool’s subsidiary KitchenAid was all bubbly over the new arrangement with SodaStream. “We are excited to expand our KitchenAid family of products and enter the growing category of home carbonation,” said David Elliott, general manager of KitchenAid small appliances. “Working with SodaStream brings together their best-in-class technology with our stylish design signature to offer a premium product for our consumers worldwide.

Daniel Birnbaum, CEO of SodaStream, chimed in and said, “KitchenAid is an iconic, global brand and we welcome them to the SodaStream revolution. Our unique platform will enable KitchenAid to provide its large and loyal consumer base with the many benefits of home carbonation. We look forward to leveraging the combined strengths of our two brands to advance the category and reach an even broader global audience.”

Pro-Israeli Group Invites Johansson to ‘See for Herself’

Wednesday, January 29th, 2014

The nationalist Legal Grounds organization in Israeli has applauded actress Scarlett Johansson for standing up for Israeli-based SodaStream and invited her to Israel as their guest “to see for herself the benefits that SodaStream and other Israeli companies based in Judea and Samaria provide to people of all religions and ethnicities.”

SodaStream recently signed on Johansson as its world ambassador, including an appearance in a commercial to be telecast during the Super Bowl game on Sunday. The company also is on the Boycott Israel target list because one of its 20 factories in the world is located east of Jerusalem, in the Judean Desert that the Palestinian Authority claims is its territory.

Johansson issued a statement earlier this week that SodaStream’s policy of hiring Palestinian Authority workers and giving them equal opportunity and benefits with Jews represents the road to peace.

She stated that she supports “neighbors working alongside each other, receiving equal pay, equal benefits and equal rights. That is what is happening in their Ma’alah Adumim factory every working day.” The factory is located in the city’s Mishor Adumim industrial park.

“We would like to recognize Scarlett Johansson for standing up to the anti-Israel BDS movement,” said the Legal Grounds Committee. At a time when there are those who seek to force their agenda through threats of boycotts and increased isolation, it is refreshing to see a public figure who does not just accept the false narrative of ‘illegal settlements’ and ‘occupation’ but understands the subtleties of the issues.”

“We encouraged our followers on Facebook to support Scarlett,” it added. We also applaud SodaStream for serving as such a fine example of the practical application of our Legal Grounds in Judea and Samaria.”
