Egyptian Army Uncovers Gaza Fuel, Cannabis Smuggling Networks

Sunday, November 3rd, 2013

The Egyptian army on Saturday discovered and demolished a major network used for storing and smuggling fuel through the Gaza borders in al-Barahima neighborhood of Rafah, Ma’an reported.

Egyptian sources told Ma’an that secret tanks were used to store diesel before it was pumped through pipelines. Four cement tanks and three plastic tanks were uncovered.

Egyptian forces have also uncovered and demolished two smuggling tunnels with their craters inside residential homes in Rafah.

One tunnel was used for smuggling people and another for goods.

About two tons of dried cannabis were also found in a farm in El-Arish city in North Sinai district.
