A French court has ruled that former Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) chairman Yasser Arafat was not assassinated, as his wife Suha and many Palestinian Arab officials claim.
Arafat died in November 20014 at Percy Military Hospital near Paris at age 75, after he developed stomach pains while barricaded at his Muqata headquarters in the Palestinian Authority capital city of Ramallah, in Samaria.
Suha Arafat has insisted that he was poisoned by highly radioactive polonium, and accused Israeli intelligence agent of murdering him, filing murder case in 2012 at Nanterre Court.
Three teams of French, Swiss and Russian investigators arrived in Ramallah shortly thereafter, where Arafat’s tomb was opened for a few hours to allow the scientists to collect approximately 60 samples for analysis.
In Lausanne, Switzerland, a center tested biological samples taken from the PLO chairman’s belongings given to his wife after his death and allegedly found “abnormal levels of polonium.” However, the center did not say the departed Arafat had been poisoned.
French experts who found isotopes polonium-210 and lead-210 in Arafat’s grave and in the samples determined they were of an “environmental nature,” according to a statement by Nanterre prosecutor Catherine Denis in April 2015.
The panel of three French judges also concluded their investigations in April as well, and sent their findings to the Nanterre prosecutor, who recommended in July that the case be closed.
This week, the panel of judges issued a ruling to close the case without bringing charges, according to the prosecutor quoted by AFP.
“At the conclusion of the investigation… it has not be demonstrated that Mr. Yasser Arafat was murdered by polonium-210 poisoning,” the judges ruled, according to the statement released by the prosecutor from the court in Nanterre, near Paris.
Suha Arafat’s attorney, Francis Szpiner, announced the decision of the judges on Twitter. Her legal counsel accused the judges of closing the investigation “too quickly” and called for more experts to be questioned.
Palestinian Authority leaders in Ramallah likewise were disgruntled by the decision. PA inquiry committee head Tawfiq Tirawi told AFP, “We’ll continue our investigation until we reach the killer of Arafat; until we know how Arafat was killed.”
An Arab Spring rebellion against Hamas may be blowing into Gaza as summer ends, Channel 2 television reported.
The match they may ignite a full-scale rebellion may have been lit yesterday by a corn vendor, who poisoned himself after Hamas closed down his stand. He now is in critical condition in a Gaza hospital.
The television channel’s English report stated:
He decided to protest in a manner that has an uncanny resemblance to the Tunisian Revolution that led to the Arab Spring.
It added that “many” Arabs in Gaza are calling for protests and are urging people burn down Hamas institutions.
By all accounts, Gaza has been a hell-hole ever since the Oslo War, or Second Intifada, when Yasser Arafat’s campaign of terror forced Jews in Gaza and in urban centers in Israel to stop employing Arabs because of terrorist attacks.
The situation deteriorated even more when Hamas ousted leaders form the Fatah movement, headed by Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas, in a bloody war in 2007.
The international campaign to blame the mostly non-existent Israeli “blockade” for Gaza’s economic woes doesn’t stand up within Gaza, where Arabs know that the Hamas regime is corrupt to the core and treats them like the corn vendor.
It is not clear if an Arab Spring indeed will blow into Gaza, but there are enough rival terrorist organizations that might exploit the opportunity to plant the seeds to overthrow Hamas and possibly bring even more misery, such as Islamic Jihad or the Islamic State.
Coincidentally or not, Iran on Wednesday reiterated support for Hamas as well as other terrorist organizations and said that helping those who “stand against the Zionist regime is a principle of Iran’s policy.”
The Palestinian Authority chairman insisted this week that he will visit Iran, which he referred to as a “sister and neighbor state” in comments made to Polish journalists
He declared his intentions the same day of his reported resignation from the PLO Executive Committee, an announcement that has been denounced as false and reiterated as true a dozen times.
Iran has not been particularly in love with Abbas because he removed, at least for English media, the adjective “armed” from noun “resistance,” the Arab code word for terror.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, when he was president of Iran in 2012, invited Abbas to visit but was rejected.
Since then, a lot has happened. Iran and Hamas have had an off-an-on relationship reflecting Middle East instability, particularly in Syria where Iranian Revolutionary Guards are trying to keep Basher al-Assad’s regime from falling.
Abbas, a modern Jules Verne who has circled the world several times since taking over the Palestinian Authority after Yasser Arafat’s death, has built up universal diplomatic for the Arab dream of annihilating Israel, if not by force then by simply shrinking its borders and setting off the demographic weapon called “refugees” to finish off of what would be left of the country.
Now that Iran is holding on to its uranium cake and eating it at the same time, Abbas sees political opportunity. Bringing in Iran under his international umbrella would go down well with the folks in Ramallah while showing up Hamas.
Whether or not the Iranian regime really will welcome him is a question.
Abbas sent envoys to Tehran two weeks ago to discuss “the Palestinian situation” with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Ahmad Majdalani, a member of the PLO’s executive committee, told the Bethlehem-based Ma’an News Agency:
Our relationship with Iran is an urgent necessity concerning international and regional developments.
The “developments” are nothing more and nothing less than the deal with Iran, which virtually every world leader with the exception of President Barack Obama acknowledges, implicitly or tacitly, as an exponential increase in Iran’s prestige and influence.
Abbas is not likely to get much out of any revival of relations with the paranoid Iranian regime except for more headlines, but that is the oxygen that has kept him alive politically.
If Hillary Clinton is elected President, her positions on Israel can be determined now by the Jews in Hollywood who are her biggest financial backers.
All of them are leftists with American-based dreams of Arabs and Jews living in peace and love while racism in America goes from bad to worse.
The one exception to the Hollywood Hit List is Haim Saban, who is on the right side of the left. It is not coincidental that he was born in Egypt and lived there 12 years before his family made Aliyah to Israel.
No one understands the Arab culture better than Sephardi Jews who are from Muslim countries. That explains why pure Ashkenazim like Shimon Peres think exactly like “liberal” American Jews who view peace as a handshake between Yasser Arafat and Yitzchak Rabin.
Among those American Jews are Hollywood moguls Spielberg and Katzenberg, both of whom donate generously to Jewish causes and passionately love an Israel that exists in their dream of a country that allows them to feel comfortable as Jews in the Diaspora.
Soros needs no introduction. He is the sugar daddy for J Street, the self-acclaimed pro-Israel lobby that promotes peace with Hamas and has come out in favor of the nuclear agreement with Iran, coined as the ObamaDeal.
Hillary Clinton has lots of support from Hollywood Jews, among them Barbra Streisand, who warmed the hearts of Jews around the world two years ago with her version of the Aveenu Malkeinu prayer in one of the two-month-long 90th birthday parties for Peres.
She also is a big donator for promoting Arab-Jewish relations, a seemingly lofty ambition that in reality is based on the idea of the American melting pot where everyone destroys their roots in order to be a giant tree without roots.
Is it any wonder why assimilation in the United States is near 70% and Arab-Jewish intermarriages are becoming more commonplace in Israel?
Katzenberg is known to be a very close with President Barack Obama and contributed heavily to his election campaigns.
Spielberg undeniably has promoted Jewish causes but his latest film on the Munich Massacre is making him more of an outcast to anyone to the right of Soros.
The movie described the Mossad agents’ hunt for the Black September terrorists who murdered 11 Israeli athletes at the Olympics in Munich in 1972.
The London Guardian reported two months ago:
Although almost nobody has yet seen the film, it has already been criticized by both Israelis and Palestinians fearful of reports about how they are portrayed.
However, the director told Time Magazine that the film is a ‘prayer for peace,’ and that the biggest enemy in the region is not the Palestinians or the Israelis but the intransigence that exists between the two sides.
If Clinton wins the Democratic party’s nomination for president in the 2016 race, it is clear where she will lean when it comes to Israel.
A fictional Palestinian Authority village is on the throes of becoming a reality that threatens a Jewish presence next to the Talmudic-period Jewish village of Susiya and which would be a catalyst to support the blood libel that all of Israel was stolen from Arabs.
Arab Susiya, with several dozen tents and structures, has been built like a Broadway stage, complete with props that enable the Arabs to spin the yarn that it has existed for centuries but that the mean IDF is trying to destroy their ancient lifestyle.
The U.S. State Dept., the European Union and lazy and inherently biased international media have swallowed the tale that is chock full of romanticism and anti-Zionism.
The southern Hebron Hills until recent years was a forgotten rural region. Archaeological evidence clearly proves that Jews lived in Biblical and Talmudic times until as late as the 9th century, coinciding with the birth and rise of Islam.
Modern aerial photographs and academic researchers have categorically established that Arabs never lived in Susiya, but the world prefers to believe starry-eyed fairy tales that Jews are land thieves.
For centuries, only a few thousand Arabs populated the relatively vast southern Hebron Hills. Other Arabs came from the Hebron area to stay in caves for two months during the season for planting and reaping wheat or to grave sheep and goats.
Other than that, they were never to be seen because their homes were elsewhere.
All of that changed soon after the early 1980s when the Jews returned after 1,500 years.
The presence of Jews in the southern Hebron Hills woke up the Arab neglect of the region, where the Ottoman Empire, the British Mandate and the Jordanian occupation after the War for Independence in 1948 never issued a solitary deed of land ownership.
Yasser Arafat in Ramallah and Arabs in Hebron started getting antsy about the Jews moving into a strategic area from which Arabs staged several deadly terrorist attacks before the Six-Day War in 1967, but they had a problem. Arabs did not want to move from the urban areas of Hebron and adjacent Halhoul and Yatta and into the mountain desert where the biggest crop is rocks.
The European Union and leftist organizations came to the rescue. They pay Arabs to live in the region and to claim that their families have done so for centuries.
B’Tselem, the EU and other pro-Arab group built structures for Arabs, gave them tents, solar power and water purification systems.
They have built new villages that never existed before, dotting the hillsides with a nearly contiguous presence trumpeted with a fictitious “historical claim.” For the record, the Jews have an older historical claim, as evidenced by the ancient synagogues in Susiya and in neighboring Samoa.
The focus of the creation of this lie has been Susiya, the largest Jewish community in the area, although less than 200 families live there. It is located several hundred yards from the Talmudic=period village, which is protected as a natural park.
The European Union and leftist groups have invested tens of thousands of dollars to bring Arabs to the narrow stretch of land separating modern and ancient Susiya. The IDF, with the approval of the Supreme Court, has issued demolition orders for some – but not all – of the illegal Arabs structures.
Most of them exist with the classic Bedouin and Arab ruse of cement buildings covered by tents to give the romantic impression they are inhabited by a group of Arabs whose love for the land is greater than the temptations to live a life of convenience in the city.
Their love for money and the love for hating Zionists are even greater.
The EU and leftists fund the Arabs to allow them to live through cold, windy and sometimes snowy winters, as well as the hot and sultry days of summer.
There are aerial photographs from two decades ago showing that not one Arab lived in Susiya, but the European Union is giving away free tickets to a play that is being billed as reality.
It has all of the elements that the anti-Israel establishment needs to beat their breasts and berate Israel for being so cruel as to destroy the lifestyle of Arabs and expel them from their ancient lifestyle, which in truth dates back to approximately 10 years.
The spokesman for the fake Arab Susiya is Nasser Nawaja, the author of today’s fiction presented as “opinion” by The New York Times. He wrote, and is quoted over and over by dummy journalists, that his mother was born in Khirbet Susiya.
And I was born in Antarctica, and you, dear reader, were born in Saudi Arabia.
Nawaja makes his living as a paid servant for B’Tselem and the European Union and whose job is to dupe the United States to adopt the illusion on which is based the Palestinian Authority claim to the rest of Judea and Samaria as well as all of Israel.
The oft-documented reports that the Palestinian Authority teaches that Haifa and Jaffa (Yafo) are part of “ancient Palestine” always were laughable and ridiculous, so thought the Israel government.
It now has woken up, years too late, and Foreign Minister spokesman Emmanuel Nachson shared with The JewishPress.com a directive it issued to its emissaries around the world to put a finger in the dike to stop the flood of fabrications.
Unfortunately, the Foreign Ministry is using logic, which is of no use, and rests its case on “long-standing agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, including the Oslo agreements,” which no longer are a reference point for anything except for a study of idiocy.
The Foreign Ministry also told its foreign staff:
These clusters of structures… were built illegally and adjacent to an ancient Jewish archeological site.
Contrary to Palestinian claims that these structures have been permanently inhabited for decades, in fact, only a handful of families resided there in the 1980s and they only used the structures on a seasonal basis….
On 4 May 2015, the Supreme Court declined to issue another temporary injunction preventing demolitions.
The government is not taking to heart Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely’s advice to emissaries when she took office two months ago and said that the world needs to be reminded that Israel – all of Israel – belong to Jews by Biblical birthright. Anyone who does not agree can take his complaint to God.
The European Union the United Nations and especially the Obama administration do not care about the logic of legal or illegal buildings because they have adopted the entire Palestinian Authority hate libel that Israel is an “occupier” and that Jews have no right to live where Arabs want to live.
This has nothing to do with the “West Bank.” It has to do with all of Israel.
The “government of Tel Aviv” has closed its eyes for decades to the Bedouin and Arab rape of the Negev, well inside the “Green Line.” The squatters, many of whom have been imported from Judea and Samaria, have stolen tens of thousands of acres of state land – their “ancient land” – and the government has done nothing except to pay them to procreate their population bomb by winking an eye at polygamy and doling out outrageous child benefits.
“Arab Susiya” will be Israel’s Waterloo if it falls to international ignorance, in which the State Dept. has a stake.
When Indian reporter Goyal Raghubir, supposedly one of the better journalists covering Foggy Bottom, asked State Dept. spokesman John Kirby last week if he has “a reaction to reports that Israel may demolish part of a village called Susiya in the West Bank for expanding settlements,” the spokesman was ready with a prepared answer:
We’re closely following developments in the village of Susiya in the West Bank, and we strongly urge the Israeli authorities to refrain from carrying out any demolitions in the village. Demolition of this Palestinian village or of parts of it, and evictions of Palestinians from their homes would be harmful and provocative. Such actions have an impact beyond those individuals and families who are evicted. We are concerned that the demolition of this village may worsen the atmosphere for a peaceful resolution.
A “peaceful resolution” in the eyes of the Palestinian Authority, the European Union and the Obama administration is the expulsion of every Jew from all of Judea and Samaria, the Golan Heights and half of Jerusalem.
The “peaceful resolution” is build on the foundation of the lies of the “Palestinian people” and of Israel as “ancient Palestine.”
The international community has hidden its inherent anti-Semitism under propaganda spewed out as the truth by such groups as B’Tselem and Rabbis for Human Rights, who hand out to the media a perfume bottle full of a poisonous potion.
The Palestinian Authority-based Ma’an News Agency, one of the foreign media’s favorite sources for lies, told its readers last week that “Susiya villagers reportedly built homes in 1986 on agricultural land they owned, after being evicted by Israel from their previous dwellings on land declared as an archaeological site.”
I have been living in this area since 1991 and frequently visited the archaeological site of Susiya. There never was a single structure in “Arab Susiya” until the late 1990s.
The State Dept. will not believe me. The European Union will not believe me. The United Nations will not believe me.
It is not because I am an “occupier;” it is not because I am a “settler'” and it is not because they care about Arabs, or “Palestinians.”
“Mr. Bean” has the answer in his portrayal of someone at the entrance to Hell, where the devil tells the Christians, “Yes, I am sorry. I am afraid the Jews were right,”
The world cannot admit it, and that is why it adopts the lie of an “Arab Susiya.”
Saeb Erekat, the chief negotiator for the Palestinian Authority, has issued a length report to the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) that calls for withdrawing recognition of Israel unless Jerusalem recognizes the PA.
The Ma’an News Agency, based n Bethlehem and with close ties to the Palestinian Authority, reported Thursday:
In a report entitled ‘Determining Palestinian-Israeli relations: Changing, not merely improving, the situation’ the PLO official recommends that the Palestinian leadership consider retracting its recognition of Israel until the Israeli government issues a reciprocal recognition of a Palestinian state.
As seen in the video below, Yasser Arafat in 1988 explicitly said at a Stockholm press conference:
We accept two states, the Palestine state and the Jewish state of Israel.’
The declaration helped succeed in advancing the “peace process” by which the PLO, which is the superior body to what now is the Palestinian Authority, wrangled hundreds of concessions from Israel without any compromise on its part.
Arafat’s declaration fell short of satisfying American demands that it recognize Israel’s right to exist under U.N. resolutions 242 and 348 that were the basis for a negotiated peace agreement that never happened.
Arafat also renounced terrorism.
Then-Foreign Minister Shimon Peres recognized Arafat’s remarks for what they were and called them a ”cunning exercise in public relations” while lacking “a commitment in reality.”
Plenty of blood has been spilled since then, as is well-known by relatives of thousands of victims of Palestinian Authority terror.
Mahmoud Abbas, who succeeded Arafat after his death, brilliantly brought the Palestinian Authority to the brink of achieving its stated aim, but he has refused to recognize Israel as a “Jewish” state because doing so would make it almost impossible to force Israel into accepting millions of foreign Arabs into the country, leaving Jews as a minority.
Erekat now has gone even further with his report that urges the PLO not to recognize Israel at all, Jewish or not, unless the same recognition is given to the Ramallah regime.
The chief negotiator went off the face of the Earth and said, according to Ma’an:
Efforts [should] be made for Hamas and Islamic Jihad to join the PLO’s Executive Committee and [he] urged the PLO and Palestinian factions to support popular resistance and the boycott of Israeli settlement products.
The PLO official also recommended that the Palestinian leadership play a better role in assisting the Palestinian diaspora in Lebanon and Syria.
At first glance, it seems that Erekat has lost his marbles.
He knows very wall that Israel will not recognize the Palestinian Authority because doing so would be an implicit agreement to turn over the country to Ramallah.
Erekat knows very well that inviting Hamas and Islamic Jihad into the PLO executive would rip the cover off the Palestinian Authority as sponsor of terror.
He probably does not understand that the Boycott Israel movement has reached its peak and is going the way of the Palestinian Authority, a moribund entity.
So what could be going in his mind?
Considering the mayhem in the Palestinian Authority government, which this week dissolve or did not dissolve depending on which official was the last to speak, Erekat could be jockeying to replace Abbas, who is 80 years old and in the eight year of a four-year term to which he was elected.
Erekat fits the bill to take over the reins because the ambition of any Palestinian Authority leader is exactly the opposite of what the world thinks it wants.
Neither Abbas nor Erekat want to see it become a state because it would collapse like a house of cards, all of which are jokers.
The Palestinian Authority will launch a new television channel aimed at Israel’s 1.6 Arab citizens whose Knesset Members’ speeches have been increasingly hateful of Israel, Zionism and Jews.
The name of the channel clearly states the agenda of the Palestinian Authority. It is called “F48.” meaning Falstin [Palestine] 1948.
Israeli media reported:
The channel will air mainly cultural and social affairs programs designed to forge a connection between the descendants of the Arabs who stayed in Israel after it was established in 1948 and those who left or were expelled.
The definition of “cultural; and social affairs” varies. In the United States, it might mean baseball, the American flag and the Tonight Show.
In Israel, it could mean soccer, falafel and camping.
Arabs in Judea and Samaria have no national culture because the “People of Palestine” is a fiction. But the Palestinian Authority regime has a culture, the same one of neighboring Arab governments – rampant corruption and hatred of Jews and Zionism.
Israel’s Arab citizens increasingly have been radicalized. The fantasy of “Palestinian” is fertile ground for rabble-rousers, from Yasser Arafat to Hamas, to exploit Arabs as tools for their campaign of destruction, something like Islamic State (ISIS) without the black flag and beheading.
The Palestinian Authority’s single-minded campaign for 30 years has not been to create a new Arab country except as a means to destroy Israel. When terror did not succeed, it tried diplomacy. That didn’t work, and now it is aiming for the United Nations and the International Criminal Court.
That also will fail, but its most powerful weapon is its hate propaganda that has educated a generation of Arabs in Judea, Gaza and Samaria to believe that Israel is an “occupier,” that Jews are “monkeys,” that the Temple Mount never existed and that all of Israel was and will be “Palestine.”
The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) during the past several years has arrested hundreds of Arabs in Israel for collaborating with Hamas or Hezbollah. Former Knesset Member Azmi Bashara was allowed to escape the country after having been indicted for handing over to Hezbollah information that helped its offensive wear against Israel in the Second Lebanon War n 2006.
Knesset Member Hanin Zoabi was aboard the Mavi Marmara, the IHH-terrorist ship that was part of a flotilla aimed at breaking the maritime embargo against the flow of terrorist and weapons by sea for the Hamas regime.
The timing is just right for the Palestinian Authority’s new F48 channel, whose footage will be broadcast from Ramallah but will be filmed in Arab areas in the Negev, the Galilee and the “Triangle” near Netanya.
The first program will be aired next week, on the first day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan that Islamist clerics exploit to incite hatred and violence against Jews.
The new channel will bring Arab citizens of Israel closer to the Palestinian Authority.
Abbas’ propagandists presumably won’t go to the gutter by airing the kind of venom it shows Arabs in Gaza, Judea and Samaria.
Arabs in Israel are a bit too educated to stomach children’s programs, like one recently aired, that shows a girl calling Jews “barbaric monkeys,” “the most evil among creations,” and those “who murdered Allah’s pious prophets.”
The channel will try to convince Arabs that the Galilee, the Negev and the Triangle all are part of “Palestine,” just as Palestinian Authority maps show that Tel Aviv, Haifa and Eilat are part of its imagined country.
The propaganda will be more effective when viewed by the more uneducated and poor Arabs and Bedouin, especially those in the Negev, and by the small but growing number of radicalized Arabs in the Galilee.
