Yishai and Malkah read a moving letter from a listener in Poland and consider how Israel should look towards other countries in the world including Canada and India. Then a debate is revealed in the Fleisher household over how to enjoy the Superbowl or NOT! Do you have a Sports Illustrated Football Phone? What kind of recreation will best help us recharge in a healthy way? On that note, the Fleishers consider if it is really possible to have Sunday become a day off in Israel. Momemtum toward this policy is increasing with encouragement from Naftali Bennett.

Holy Humor

Comedian and Reform Rabbi Bob Alper and Lawyer and Community Activist Azhar Usman are a comedy duo known as ‘Comedy’s Odd Couple’ performing together in an act titled: “One Muslim, One Jew, One Stage.” I’ll bet a show with a Muslim and an Orthodox Jewish comic would be even funnier—especially since the Jewish comic would [...]

Yishai and alternative peace activist Baruch Widen discuss whether Jerusalem is truly united or divided.

Straight forward halacha from the Web Yeshiva – because I was curious. If I didn’t know better, I’d wonder if Rabbi Chaim Brovender, dean of WebYeshiva, wasn’t filmed at 5 in the morning, Shavuot day, after staying up learning all night… But the clip was probably just shot a the end of a very long [...]

“Six13 is celebrating Shabbat with the debut of our fun, energetic new music video, Good Shabbos, and we would be honored if you’d post it. We figured the world had enough Purim, Passover and Chanukah tunes and videos – so why not one for the most important day of all?” Excellent point.

We present a classic episode of Malkah’s “Eishet Chayil” show on the spiritual history of Jerusalem woven with songs for Jerusalem Day. Enjoy!

I can’t have enough of these. The Internet can’t have enough of the Harlem Shakes. In this case, the residents of the Golden West Senior Living in Boulder, CO, the oldest of whom are 100 years old, participate in the HS. One viewer recognized his Aunt Sue Jenkins, age 94, in the frame. How can [...]

Jerusalem Day (Yom Yerushalayim) is an Israeli national holiday commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem and the establishment of Israeli control over the Old City in June, 1967. The Chief Rabbinate of Israel declared Jerusalem Day a minor religious holiday to thank God for victory in the Six-Day War and for answering the 2,000-year-old prayer of [...]

Yishai and Malkah talk about living in Jerusalem on Yom Yerushalayim.

Yes, he tells it like you’d imagine Bill Shatner would tell a joke. In fact, this one is all about the delivery, not the punchline. And so you’ll get the punchline if you’re under 70 and don’t live in Florida: the Hialeah Park Race Track is one of the oldest existing tracks in southern Florida, [...]

I realize the whole thing is mildly racist, but the cartoonish qualities of the event are worth the itzy bitzy sense of discomfort. The official title of this clip is “President Obama Performs at a Sheva Brochos in Borough Park @ Shlomo Bochne’s simcha.” Mr Chaim Ziegler is the host. It was published on March 20, [...]
