Children Wade in Gaza Raw Sewage

Gaza children wade in raw sewage in December 2013 -- well before the start of Operation Protective Edge and while construction supplies were being shipped into the region. Hamas was not taking care of its civilians; it was too busy building its terrorist infrastructure to attack Israel.

On November 13, the streets of the Al Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City were flooded with raw sewage, after a nearby waste water treatment plant had been shut down.

We’re facing a potential epidemic of biblical proportions here. Gaza is not separated from the rest of Israel when it comes to elements of the environment. Their sea—gorged in their raw sewage—is our sea. People and animals constantly move out of Gaza and into our part of the geography. We must fix this, no matter the cost.

An outbreak of cholera would be much more expensive and complicated to fix.

Do we really want dead bodies piling up and festering in the streets of Gaza? Forget about the political damage, start thinking Plague.

  1. Tany Berman says:

What a shame BUT what about these moooslims KILLING JEWISH BABIES…………….

  2. Maybe it’s time for HAMAS to show some real leadership and fix this.

  3. Their sewage treatment plan is offline since Egypt cut off smuggling of subsidized fuel from the Sinai and the Hamas govt is too cheap to buy fuel at standard prices from Israel – they would rather invest in terror tunnels and rockets than their own people’s welfare.

  4. ARE YOU KIDDING ???????????????

  5. Uh, yeah, I'm OK with biblical retribution on these Jew-haters.

  6. Uh, yeah, I'm OK with biblical retribution on these Jew-haters.

  7. Anthony Kent says:

Maybe they can divert some of the $100m a year tunnel building budget to sorting it out.

  8. Wallowing in their own filth. That's poetic justice for ya.

  9. Israel bombed Palestinian's sewer treatment plants and that is why sewage is running in the streets. What hatefulness does this and then laughs at it and blames the victems?

  10. Israel bombed Palestinians sewer treatment plants. Are you not aware of this? Not if you only read the radical Jewish Press. Where does your cruelty come from?

  11. Tunnel building is necessary for medical and food supplies and basically everything since they cannot travel and purchase what they need due to the Israeli blockades. Palestinians live in the largest open-air prison in the world. It has been condemned by the World Court. The US gives lip service only and are just as culpable.

  12. This, coming from the highly credible Jenika Sharon, the very same neo-Nazi troll who only yesterday insisted with a straight face that Avigail Tzur — the Jewish baby stoned by Arabs in Jerusalem — had never been stoned at all.

  13. People who, unlike Jenika Sharon, are interested in actual facts, may be interested to know that Israel has incredibly (and idiotically) BUILT many sewage treatment plans — using Israeli taxpayers' money — for the "Palestinians". In one recent case, here's how the "Palestinians" thanked Israel for doing so:

  14. Yechiel Baum says:

Pity they dont' bathe in it and clean themselves up.

  15. ….and until we can change our attitudes, there will never be peace in the Middle East.

  16. From the looks of these exchanges, I can see what is holding back the Peace Process

  17. Jenika Sharon. There are truckloads of food and medical supplies going into Gaza every day and even the granddaughter of Hanie(the Hamas chief) was treated in Israel. You are a one eyed biased person who expects people, who persistently proclaim they want to kill every jew, to be trated other then a criminal which uses to be kept in prison or in othere words under guard to protect those whom he is a threat to, everywhere in the world. You should keep helping the poor and homeless in your nation(you doing a good job there) and moreover, give it back to the I
ndians if you would stick to what you demand of Israel.

A little bit of humor on a serious Pesach subject.

Political Strategist Elie Pieprz and Knesset Insider Jeremy Saltan join Yishai to “talk Pesach” and and share their tips for the dreaded Passover preparations(i.e. clean early, clean often.) The issue of food, of course, comes up: What tastes better — Pesach lazagna or matza Pizza? Why do Sephardi Jews eat things during the holiday that Ashkenazi Jews do not? And what the heck is “gebrachats”? Then, Ayala Shapiro, aged 11, was critically wounded by a Molotov cocktail hurled by a terrorist. Ayala, who suffered third-degree burns over 40% of her body, is facing a long, complicated and painful road to recovery, after days of hovering between life and death. But you can help. Tune in to hear how. Finally, Rabbi Mike Feuer joins Yishai to get ready for the BIG Shabbat — “Shabbat HaGadaol” — before Passover. Tune in to find out more!

Seth Frantzman and Mati Wagner, op-ed and editorial page editors (respectively) at The Jerusalem Post, join Yishai in-studio. Seth just returned to Israel from a food-filled and uber-capitalist trip to Dubai. Mati just came back from a fact-finding mission about slain Argentinian prosecutor Alberto Nisman. Having both spent election night at the headquarters of the Joint Arab List in Nazareth, they discuss the accusations of bigotry against PM Benjamin Netanyahu. Then, the recent J Street conference featured remarks by White House Chief-of-Staff Denis McDonough, who said that Israel is engaged in a 50-year occupation which “must end.” The Jews in the audience clapped wildly and showed great excitement when the potential advent of a Palestinian state was discussed. Finally, Alan Elsner, Vice President for Communications at J Street, an organization that identifies itself as the “political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans,” joins Yishai from Washington to explain.

In the 1950s, the Israel Defense Forces engaged in retaliatory missions after terrorist attacks. Was this a legitimate expression of defense? Is the spirit of robust deterrence still alive in Israel? Yishai shares an incredible story with Knesset Insider Jeremy Saltan about the three kidnapped youths who were massacred last summer, and how justice came to their killers. Jeremy also weighs in on potential foreign “punishment” of Israel and provides coalition updates.

Then, Pastor Dave McGarrah and Charlie Schiffman, co-hosts of the popular radio show, “The Teacher and the Preacher,” join Yishai in-studio. In Israel on tour with his flock, Pastor Dave, a Christian, and Charlie, a Jew, prove that Christian-Jewish relations can reach a new level. Listen in!

Nothing like watching reruns of the classics on a lazy Sunday. Somehow, they always seem so timely.

h/t Washington Free Beacon And for good measure: Post by Senator Tom Cotton.

Yishai rants about Ahmed Tibi, leader of the Arab Movement for Change, an Israeli political party, who said, “We thought the Israeli public wanted change, but instead acted in a tribal way, and therefore we are left with Netanyahu.” Then, Zeev Ben-Shachar, director of Israel Education at Jerusalem U., joins Yishai in-studio to deconstruct the techniques of the Israel-haters and to lay out a strategy for fighting anti-Israel bias on campuses. Finally, Rabbi Mike Feuer and Yishai take the studio outside on a beautiful Jerusalem day to talk about the challenging issues of faith when things don’t go our way and the resulting anger. They also provide an “intro” to the Book of Leviticus and discuss the challenging issue of animal sacrifice.

Yishai is joined first by Knesset Insider Jeremy Saltan and then by VOI Bureau Chief Daniel Seaman to discuss how PM Benjamin Netanyahu beat the New York Times, the V-15 campaign, US President Barack Obama — and how the strategies of his enemies backfired. Then, David P. Goldman (known as “Spengler” in his erudite columns), is Senior Fellow at the London Center for Policy Research, Associate Fellow at the Middle East Forum and author of “How Civilizations Die (and Why Islam is Dying, Too”. He joins Yishai to discuss the hegemonic appetite of Iran, America’s explicit acceptance of it, and the mandate that PM Netanyahu has received from Israel’s voters to fight it.

Finally, Alex Traiman joins Yishai in-studio to discuss the upcoming coalition and the spiritual significance of the Likud victory, using the Purim miracle as a parable.

Yishai is joined by his wife, Malkah, to recap the Fleisher family’s voting adventures and marvel at Israel’s youth, who are deeply involved in the political process. Then, Haaretz blogger and TLV1 broadcaster Allison Kaplan Sommer joins Yishai to discuss the voting patterns of Israel’s Coastal Plain, traditionally a more liberal bloc.

Finally, a must-hear interview with Aida Touma-Sliman, the former head of the International Department of the Communist Party of Israel. Recently resigned from her post as editor-in-chief of Al-Ittihad (an Israeli daily Arabic newspaper) to run in the fifth — and realistic — slot of the Joint Arab List, she bares some tough issues that divide Muslim-Arabs and Jews in Israel.
