Israel has the military ability to re-occupy the Gaza Strip, says the IDF, but the move would come at a cost of hundreds of Israeli lives and could endanger Israel’s peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan. The move could also result in numerous IDF soldiers being taken hostage.

According to a report on Channel 2 following the Tisha B’av fast Tuesday diplomatic correspondent Udi Segal, the report, IDF officers told government ministers that thousands of Palestinian civilians would be killed in the effort.

Segal reported that there are approximately 20,000 gunmen in the Strip,  who posses large stockpiles of rockets, explosives and weaponry. The report said that taking control of that arsenal would take no less than five years and could make Israel’s occupation of the South Lebanon security zone from 1983-2000 look like child’s play.

In addition, large-scale violence from Judea and Samaria Arabs and Arab citizens of Israel would be expected.

  1. But this war has changed a lot of perspectives even among Gazans blaming Hamas of deaths. For me this is victory. Hamas will have a second thought next time to fly their rockets to Israel. We may not know there are some positive results among the Palestinians as a result of this war.

  2. Bomb don’t occupy

  3. If Egypt helps to stabilize Gaza..than its worth it. When terrorism ends in Gaza, many countries will have great prosperity and sleep in peace but not not I Ran! UN must have deep conviction to educate the Gaza Children as of now they are trained to kill The Jews and Infidels! HOW COULD UN SPONSOR SUCH SCHOOLS?

  4. It’s going to cost you in the very near future a lot more of Israelis life’s for giving up some of God’s land according to the Bible. I will have to look these verses up and repost later.

  5. God bless, Israel and the Jews. Praying from Norway with all my love

  6. Do not trust leftside politics in any country!

  7. Sharon and company NEVER should have given it up, the stupid fools.Look what it caused.

  8. But if the rockets, over 3500 had killed Israeli children, which is what Hamas wanted, that would have been O.K. With you, right moron? After all, who started it ? Now Gaza is wrecked and what did those scumbags attain? Tough luck raghead.

  9. Sue Johnson says:

Israel does not want the trouble.

  10. Hey how come you guys arent attacking the republicans 1 of the high profile members wants to CUT ALL FUNDING TO ISRAEL.

  11. First of all, taking back Jewish land is not “re-occupying” Second, if we do not take back the Jewish land from the racist child murdering islamists all we will get is more more war and thousands of dead and wounded.

  12. David Cohen says:

Anybody ever hear of the Palestine Riots of 1929 and 1937? The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and his collaboration with the Nazi Regime? Learn history, people. The Hamas and other Anti-Israel use recycled Nazi propaganda against Jews.

  13. Then Hamas wins? They are still in power :(

  14. wish i knew what lior was saying

  15. “Conquer” sounds a little aggressive… as though we want something there!! I think we have enough problems at home… is there a word that captures “save them from themselves”?

  16. Is the question really, do it in the short run and have peace or just subdue it and go through cyclical wars for the foreseeable furture. I do not see Hamas or any of the Arab nations allowing peace in Gaza, especially with ISIS mobilizing, The infiltration of terrorist will continue because that is the nature of the muslim/anti-Jews.

  17. Ronnie Pleet says:

I hear this war has made ordinary Gazans angrier at israel

  18. Ronnie Pleet says:

Poor Lior. I like the world you live in but it is make believe

  19. You can’t “conquer” what belongs to you in the first place….

  20. I would be interested in going there for work in Construction……………… where do I contact ?

  21. What does ‘reconquering Gaza’ mean? It should mean depopulate and exiling Palestinians to Jordon, Turkey, Syria, or somewhere (their problem). Then the same for the West Bank, and any Israeli Arab who has allegiance problems. And remember that Palestinians are not just Muslims, but Christians as well some who are actively supporting Hamas as they did support Arafat and others in the beginning. Israel should retake ALL Israel as a JEWISH nation.
