The First Actual Palestinian-American in Congress (and He Was Jewish)

Did you know that there was a Palestinian-American in the House long before anyone else, who was in fact the only one who was actually a citizen of “Palestine,” and who had a Palestinian passport? And that he was Jewish?

    Yes, Israel Can Attack Iran

Israel would be very foolish to put all her eggs in America’s basket today.

“Everyone Knows” … but EVERYONE is Wrong

PM Netanyahu’s promise to extend Israeli sovereignty to the settlements – and not, by the way, “to annex the West Bank” as so many headlines have it – has re-ignited debate about these issues. But nothing’s changed. Here are some popular but false statements about Judea/Samaria and the Jewish communities that have been established there:

Why They Attack Jews in New York

I have been searching for a coherent statement by an assailant. Most of them don’t get past “f- you, Jews.” But it seems to me that they blame Jews for something, and feel justified in hurting them. The consequences of doing it are not great, so why not?

The Arrogance and Ignorance of Tikkunist Jews

Tikkunism is a radical departure from traditional Judaism. Reform Judaism deemphasized the “ritual” commandments like observance of kashrut and Shabbat, while emphasizing the “social” commandments like concern for strangers, widows, and orphans, and the political vision of the Prophets. Tikkunism goes even farther and redefines the social commandments and in terms of progressive politics.

    Notes on our Next War

Everyone thinks war is unavoidable, and most people understand, at least on an intellectual level, that this war is going to be one of the toughest in Israel’s history.

Be Harrison Ford, not Woody Allen

Recently Israel allowed herself to be humiliated by Hamas, which burned thousands of acres of her fields and forests, and then launched the most intense rocket bombardment in Israel’s history. Our response, bombing unoccupied military targets, was tactically significant but psychologically impotent. The Jew-haters were gratified, because the Jews lived up to the stereotype: powerful and controlling, and yet at the same time weaklings who are afraid to fight.

    Kahane Was Right

Kahane was absolutely right about one thing, and it is a big thing: Jews and Arabs cannot coexist as equals in Eretz Yisrael (by which I mean the land between the river and the sea). The Land of Israel must be the exclusive property of the Jewish people.

    Islam is Not a religion

It is not a human right in the West to espouse, as does Islam, an ideology that embraces conquest and destruction of Western civilization. Islam is not merely a religion, it is an ideology.

One Reason Americans Often are Wrong About Jews and Israel

Why are liberal Americans often so wrong about anything connected to Jews or Israel, despite the fact that they are seemingly obsessed with these subjects? Just ask the New York Times

    Yes, it’s a Coup

There are ad hoc groups of former security officials, etc.--and then there is Ehud Barak.

    Jordan can be Palestine

We have reached our breaking points. There are murders and attempted murders almost every day. We try to make agreements, to improve their living conditions, to use the minimum amount of force necessary to protect ourselves. We knock on roofs, shoot rubber bullets, issue work permits, dismantle communities because there is a claim of Palestinian ownership, approve the same building plans over and over without building. They kill Jews.

    The Biden Administration and Israel

It may not matter what, if anything, Biden thinks, because he will be guided by unseen hands.

    Today’s Blood Libel

In the past one hundred years, nothing has changed except for the defendant.

“You DON’T Have a Right to Exist. May We Come in?”

Despite what the critics say, Netanyahu’s decision doesn’t seem to have been ideological – although I think it should have been – but rather a simple balancing of the likely consequences of the options available.

    Remembering Amalek

Perhaps decades ago we could have simply wiped out the PLO and reached some kind of understanding with traditional leaders among the Palestinian Arabs. Perhaps not. But today the “Palestinians” have taken on the mantle of Amalek. They must be defeated and disarmed, and those who see themselves as our enemies must be permanently expelled from the land of Israel.

    Goodbye, Jewish-American busybodies

American Jewish progressives use their DNA to justify vicious and damaging attacks on Israel. Creating organizations intended to demonize and delegitimize the only Jewish state. And you think that because of your Jewish parentage you somehow have a special right to do this!

Antisemitism: Far Worse than You Thought

Weiss wants to fight antisemitism by being honest, liberal, proud, and enlightened. All those qualities are useless against enemies that are precisely the opposite in all respects, and that is the case with antisemites. There is only one way to deter your enemies, and that is to be more powerful than them – and to demonstrate this whenever the occasion arises.

    Are there “Arab Jews?”

The idea that Mizrahim are “Arab Jews” is wrong. It is also insulting, suggesting that they lost sight of their ancient heritage during their time in exile, and assimilated to the surrounding culture. And it is pernicious

    Let Israel WIN!

Daniel Pipes said nothing would be better for the Palestinians in the long run than losing hope, because the fundamental cause of the conflict is Palestinian rejectionism

Biden Brings Back Cognitive Dissonance Over Israel

Obama's policy was to weaken Israel while pretending to help her, for example by phasing out the portion of the military aid that could be used to buy from Israel’s own military industry.

Does Ofer Cassif belong in the Knesset?

Our legal system, and especially the Supreme Court, applies a double standard to Jews and Arabs. Precisely as is forbidden in the Torah, our judges lean toward those that they (wrongly) believe to be oppressed.

The 800-Pound Gorilla of American Judaism

The 800-pound gorilla of American Judaism? Progressivism

    What Happened to My Hometown

The Reform rabbi successfully influenced the local Jewish Federation into converting a proud Zionist statement into a celebration of multi-cultural kumbaya, the consequence of his interfaith dialogue with local Muslims.

    The West is Lost

I think the election will mark the inflection point at which the curve of civilizational decline turns sharply downward. When the US loses its dominant economic and military position, the effects will be felt everywhere. The crisis in the US will begin the sharp acceleration of the decline of the West.

“The Axis” vs. the Jews of Judea and Samaria

Unfortunately, many Israeli politicians seem to have internalized the mindset that is promoted by the psywar campaign

How and Why we are Losing the Cognitive War

The best way to picture our position in the cognitive struggle is that of a nation besieged. Our objective is to relieve the pressure so that we can continue with our normal lives. We are not interested in conquering and holding “enemy territory,” but we do want to destroy our enemies’ stock of cognitive weapons and crush their will to fight.

The 800-Pound Gorilla of the Non-Orthodox World

The ordinary Israeli sees Reform Judaism for what it is, a politically left-leaning, spiritually vacuous, non-Jewish religion. But it is the 800-pound gorilla of the non-Orthodox world, with money, clout, and people that it uses to project its influence here in Israel, where, in my opinion, it does not belong.

    Was Kahane right?

Nobody in Jewish Israel wants to say that the ideal of coexistence with the 20% of our population that are Arabs is unobtainable, that we are getting farther away from it as time goes by rather than closer. But that’s how it seems today.
