President Herzog hosting at his official residence, leaders of Ariel University

Israel’s President Isaac Herzog hosted a gathering of Ariel University leadership and representatives of its Israeli and Australian Friends of chapters at his official residence last week. The President congratulated the University on its crucial contribution to improving relations amongst the citizens of Israel by embodying diversity and multi-culturalism on its campus and commended the University for positively influencing regional relations.

President Herzog also praised the University’s commitment to students from underrepresented communities who are often the first in their family to attend an institution of higher-learning, remarking that Ariel University has created innovative support-programs greatly boosting their rate of success. The President noted that students from the periphery and the Ethiopian community have particularly benefited from these initiatives.

Ariel University President, Prof Yehuda Shoenfeld, and the school’s Rector, Prof. Albert Pinhasov, also spoke, providing the President and attendees with a brief overview of the impressive advances and groundbreaking research performed by Ariel University, Israel’s newest and fastest growing public University.

The University’s Senior Vice President, Mr. Bobby Brown, remarked that the gathering, though formal in nature, had a warmth and intimacy to it as President Herzog knew most of the guests quite well.

The event occurred a few days before the passing of the President’s beloved mother, Aura (z’l), Israel’s former First Lady, widow of the nation’s 6th President, Chaim Herzog.
