A group of at-risk teens entered a new “mechina” preparatory boarding school on the site designed to help them learn what they need to know prior to starting their mandatory service with the Israel Defense Forces.

The new school, headed by Uriel Eldad, belongs to the Mechinat Shachar network which prepares high school graduates to excel in their military service. According to a report on the Hebrew-language Srugim news website, both secular and observant youths are registered in the six-month program.

By summer 2020, about 20 new families – both observant and secular – are also expected to move to Trump Heights.
