In stark contrast, I was never contacted by anxious parents whose children had begun using racial slurs or related, degrading speech about others outside the community. I doubt the reason for this is that such talk is completely absent from our homes. In fact, I would suspect that it is more common for such expressions to be uttered than those that typically would be deemed nivul peh. Yet, it bears repeating, I never encountered any meaningful parental concern about that issue.

If it is not a matter of concern for us, how can we expect it to trouble our children?
