What wasn’t a surprise for this politically mixed, sometimes polarized, audience including several former congregants who left the synagogue due to its failed support for pro-Israel programming? Rosenn was allegedly brought in by TJC as part of the synagogue’s effort “to provide a range of perspectives on Israel,” according to an email from TJC Board President Gil Gordon. Yet one of TJC’s congregants, a leading proponent for more diverse (or divisive) programming, attacked the audience for asking informed questions.
Liberal used to be synonymous with open-minded; not any more.
With all the dancing around the issues, it looks like Rabbi Rosenn will soon need a new pair of Tap Shoes. His are clearly wearing thin.
