An Arab terrorist stabbed a Border Guard Police officer on Sabbath morning during operations on a road near the Jewish community of Har Adar, northwest of Jerusalem.

The officer was operating with a patrol unit that was preparing to open a road next to a security barrier when he was ambushed by the terrorist, who sprang out of the brush near the barrier, brandishing a knife.

He aimed at any officer he could reach and managed to stab at least one, before turning and escaping towards the nearby Arab town of Beit Surik, near Har Adar.

The wounded police officer sustained a shoulder wound and was treated on the scene before he was evacuated, first to Har Adar, and then to Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center.

Israeli security teams are hunting for the stabber and those who were involved in planning the attack.
