IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot prays at the Kotel.

IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot clarified last week that having the head of the Education division and not an IDF rabbi give the graduation speech at the Kotel for a Givati graduation was a one-off event, and not a change in procedure.

Eizenkot made it clear that in future graduation ceremonies, an IDF rabbi would speak after the unit commander, according to a report in Makor Rishon.

There is an ongoing feud between the Education division and the IDF Rabbinate over the educational messages each want to give the soldiers.
