Egyptian Sheikh Omer Salem PhD is in Israel this week to visit Samaria as a guest of local Assemblyman David Ha’Ivri, a former talk show host on Israel News Talk Radio.
The sheikh toured Samaria together with Ha’Ivri, who also brought the academic to the Barkan Heights, where he could see not only the beauty of the region but also the strategic reasons for Israel to continue its control over the area.

Salem is a Muslim who holds a Masters Degree in religious studies from Yale University in New Haven, CT and a PhD from Al Azhar University in Cairo. He completed a similar tour in Israel in 2016.
