Israeli authorities have issued a flash flood warning for the Negev region and the area around the Dead Sea for this coming Thursday and Friday. Rain is expected in the forecast later in the week.

The Israel Nature and Parks Authority has warned hikers not to enter or cross streams and riverbeds – nor should drivers – until water levels from rain in the region recede completely.

It’s especially important to be aware that although it may appear to be sunny in some areas, flash floods may still be possible due to rain occurring elsewhere along the riverbed.
